I really love that I don't smell like an ashtray anymore..or bother anyone else in my home with smoke. I use the 901 mini.
The Nanny State strikes again!
Well, considering that it now costs me more than $100 a week to feed my and my wife's habits, it may be very attractive, cost-wise.
If I got similar results to others, I'd be done spending money on nicotine after a few weeks. Saving over $5,000 a year at this time sounds mighty good to me.
Funky, they are great..glad I found them. The only thing is-they are not quite technologically efficient yet. Hope someday someone can get the atomizer and the liquid delivery system down better. I baby mine and have ordered lots of backup stuff too...just in case Obama’s FDA restricts them.
That's been one of the reasons why I never considered patches or gum as replacement therapies. I would want the physical action of smoking too much, and would likely revert to my addiction in no time.
This sounds like just the right therapy for me.

The Dura-C and the DSE 510 are interchangeable. Each comes with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a battery charger and 5 filled cartridge - usually with some “tobacco” flavor nic juice. The Dura-C was around 55.00 and the DSE around 45.00. You can also buy extra atomizers or batteries a la carte.
Nic juice can be purchased in many flavors, my personal favorite being apple. You can buy in 10ml quantities for about 9.00, and you can buy in varying amounts of nicotine per ml. Totallywicked e-juice(don’t know the url) sells nic juice in 30ml quantities for 19.99. You can also buy blank cartridges that you fill with the juice yourself. The cartridges are made of a plastic tube filled with polyfil batting. You can save money by purchasing the batting yourself (some people use fish tank filter material) and reusing the cartridges after the batting becomes too used to vape properly.
The problem lies in the fact that the e-cig is starting to pick up steam (or vapor, pardon the pun) in the US. They’ve been around the UK for quite some time. Distributors run out of stock almost as soon as they get it in.
Personally, I find them to be as good as, or better than regular cigs, because I like the flavoring. Plus, even though I’m still getting nicotine, what I’m NOT getting is all the chemicals in the cigarette. Neither is my family.
A positive is, since what you exhale is essentially steam, you aren’t smoking. People are doing it on airplanes, at work, in restaurants, etc.
BTW, I found out about the e-cig here on Freerepublic. If you look back in the forums about the cig tax going up on March 31 (the thread was that date), you’ll find a post to the thread with links. Try www.e-cigarette-forum.com for lots of info and videos.
Hope that helps.

Good luck!
I wrote to "estickusa" last night with a question about their "menthol" strength. It's only listed as Medium on their web site.
They were very prompt to answer that Menthol does come in full strength, so I am going to order this device for Dear Husband tomorrow morning.
I assume it's similiar to the Nicotine gum, which comes in 4 mg or 2mg strength.

where do you get these e cigarettes from?
Ever see a friends kid laying on a slab in the morgue? How about your own, Or maybe your brother, sister?
Drugs kill and are a huge cost to society as it is, and you want to see them kill even more, and increase the cost "recreational drug use" has on society? brilliant.
There’s a tax on cigs. There’s no tax on nicotine. There’s the reason why there is a push to outlaw these things.
This isnt’ about quitting. Lots of smokers don’t want to quit. ever. They just want to cut back a little without suffering any withdrawl.
So you cut back a little and whenever you start to feel the urge, you have one of these electric cigarettes. What’s wrong with that?
Exactly. The government isn't interested in seeing true addicts quit smoking. The revenue potential on cigarettes has barely begun to be exploited like it has in countries like Canada. The revenue loss now and in the future would be staggering.
I never heard of it before and it sounds like a good idea I'll have to check into it.
The only thing that bothered me is at the end they asked me to sign a petition to
"Save the Polar Bears" and to stop Arctic drilling now.
Uhhh ... that would be NO
I have this book and have read it many times. I completely believe in his theories and recommendations. Smoking nothing is the best way, absolutely. Some e-cig smokers even go to no analogs (reg. cigs) and then to not even vaping.
It’s ironic that Mr. Carr died of lung cancer. However, his seminars and his book still holds true. Take the whole addiction thing and turn it backwards. Smokers are trying to get back to the feeling they had when they had never smoked before.
I see a lot of interest here. If anyone has questions, by all means feel free to PM me and I will be more than happy to share information. Be warned: As with anything else, there are some vendors out there making false claims and selling junk. READ before you buy. If you want to skip the reading, I can give a couple of recommendations on reputable vendors who are honest and devices that I know work. Keep in mind that this technology is in its infancy and you should expect that it does have its own problems. For me, the benefits far outweigh the negatives.
As Freepers, I know I really dont need to pass on common sense statements, but I want you all to keep in mind that you are dealing with vegetable glycerin that is 100% safe, but it is laced with nicotine, ie: 100% pure poison to children. Get yourself a lock box if you keep this in your home with kids or pets. If I were posting this on DU, Id have to clamor on about safety since they cant think for themselves over there, but you all get it.
I didn't want this to turn into a promotional thread, but I guess that is to be expected since this is such an exciting thing for smokers. Most people discourage using any kind of device to inhale nicotine and I do as well. Dont just pick this up for the fun of it if you arent a current smoker. Its not safe. Its just WAY safer than smoking tobacco. But if you are in the same position as all the rest of us who are already smokers, this is a way out.
Also pay attention to WHERE you are buying from. Most of these vendors are in China or UK. Be prepared to wait several weeks in some cases if you buy from overseas.
A few years ago I was standing outside my office smoking a cigarette.
Two women were walking towards me as I puffed away.
As they approached, one of them (smoking nazi) said “ Do you know how many chemicals are in that ? “
I looked down at my cigarette...
Paused..
Looked back at her and said;
I’m suprised they’re not more expensive.
Got a great laugh out of her.
Yeah, it’s sad that lung cancer got him, but he almost certainly got an extra decade or two out of life because he quit. Five packs a day and that guy would have been dead possibly before 60. And in those extra decades, he probably saved thousands of lives. Hopefully mine as well.
