West TX Tea Party - After Action Report

Our little west Texas city of Midland, pop. little over 100,000, had our Tea Party today. It was great and I was so surprised at the size of the crowd. Even though we are predominately conservative, there was a much better turn out than I expected. I talked to one of the sheriff's deputies and he estimated about 1,500 showed up.

There were several very good speakers, but one was exceptional, toward the end. He also had a great speaking voice, and he hit all the right topics. Another speaker was a man who ran for congress in years past who also gave a excellent talk. No elected officials were allowed to speak, only citizens, and I don't think any elected officials showed up. I didn't see any local press either, though I may have missed them. The host was a local radio owner and personality.

Everyone was respectful, excited, and very patriotic. The general sentiment was we need to throw all the bums out. Judging from the signs and comments, all the attendees were well informed about the problems, the guilty congresscritters, socialism, marxism, and they were not happy. I would have sworn they were all FReepers, but I didn't get a chance to ask. Many were veterans who certainly were not happy about the NSA report. There were several Patriot Guard there also, I always love seeing them.

The MSM reaction is too funny. They can not even form a logical thought in their PC saturated brains. The disgusting excuses for intelligent life have allowed idolitry of Obama to supress any form of reason.

By any chance is the Sheriff there still Sheriff Painter? I haven’t spoken to him in more than a decade... but if he is still there, unless his opinion has changed, he would be a full supporter of all of this.

He is still here and is sheriff. I am under the impression that most of our law enforcement are pretty conservative. The ones there today did not seem at all concerned about any of it and even seemed to enjoy some of the comments, however, of course they did not participate. I don't think his opinion has changed.
