Obama is a wimp!

First Kim, then Sarkozy, then the pirates, and now the governors!

I’m curious if this law passes would that mean a fully automatic rifle manufactured in Montana and stays in Montana would be exempt from Federal laws as far as Montana is concerned?...

I am so proud that so many are coming out against this administrations fascism and socialistic takeovers of our people. We need our state governments to put the brakes on and put them on hard!

If we are really going to stand up to the fascists in D.C. then we need Republicans, Independents, and conservative Democrats to join the fray.

Good on you Governor!

This should offer another challenge to Wickard v Filburn.

It'll be interesting to see if the same people that cheered when the Bush administration lawyers argued to uphold it in the Raisch case still feel that way when Obama's Justice Department does the same.

The governor was in a tough spot.

Sign it and get re-elected.

Veto it and get skewered.

Some thoughtful legislation such as this might have saved those burnt to death at Waco.

It is amazing to me that when it comes down to something like guns, some dems actually do see the constitutional light. But then, most of these dems are in very RED states.

FU feds!!

Despite a full-court press by the media to ignore and/or ridicule the issue, there is both a huge effort by the current government to expand their powers far beyond what they already were, and a lot of citizens who do not care for it at all.

That said, I am pessimistic about the eventual outcome.

“Gov. Brian Schweitzer has signed into law a bill that aims to exempt Montana-made guns from federal regulation...”

Oh my...when Holder finds out he’s going to $h-t a purple Twinkie right there during his daily staff briefing.

Also, would this action mean that the Governor of Montana is now on Napalitano’s DHS rightwing extremist watch list?

...just asking...

This could be a double-edged sword.

States would be able to ban firearms under this legislation.

I wouldn't fall back to a position of states rights. The Second Amendment states the right to bear arms. The Constitution must be defended first.

Within the framework of governing the availability of firearms, the states would be more like a loose federation in that respect. States upholding the Second Amendment could then be picked off one by one.
