Acknowledging that “an apology is owed,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano promised Thursday to “meet and clear the air” with veterans groups that were offended by her agency’s report citing “returning veterans” as terrorist risks to the U.S.
“To the extent veterans read it as an accusation,” Napolitano told FOX News, “an apology is owed.”
“I’ll meet with the leaders of some of the veterans groups,” she promised on “FOX & Friends.” “The last thing we want to do is offend or castigate all veterans. To the contrary, let’s meet and clear the air.”
Napolitano said she was briefed on the report, including the warning about returning veterans, before it was released.

Another domestic terrorist, Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber) was a professor at Berkeley. By her logic, shouldn’t DHS be monitoring all professors for terrorist activities. Actually, domestic terrorists usually become professors, Bill Ayers.

If an apology is coming, it appears too narrow in scope. The DHS should not be targeted people who disagree with the Obama administration, just because they disagree.
Nappy - what part of this don’t you get? This early in your ‘assignment’ and you screwed up big time. We will believe your apology when you resign. You are in way over your head. You make your determination because of one person?

Thank Bush for that one... Sorry, but it’s true... It was a reactionary step taken in light of 9/11. Just like the Patriot Act that many here defended, and I got yelled at for being upset about... Guess what? THIS is why I was yelling back then folks... Trust Bush and the GOP? FINE... But NOW those laws will be used against US by the Liberals. Napolitano told Steve Doocey of FOX today when he told her he didn’t appreciate being called a Terrorist because he was a Practicing Catholic and opposed Abortion, basically told him “TOUGH!” How ZERO dug her up for this critical position, defies all Intelligence, Comprehension, and Rationality! McGREEVEY’S Israeli Boyfriend would have been a better and more Logical CHOICE!
If you are a veteran who believes in the constitution you swore to uphold and defend with your life, then you are a target of this administration.

I spent the best years of my life defending this country and my boys are doing the same in Iraq and now the government is calling us the enemy??? My family name came here in 1674 and has served from George Washington’s army until now...

Any law can be used against anybody by the government, and this has always been the case. The Bush laws were meant to combat genuine (Islamic) terrorism after an actual attack. They obviously worked well then but are being abused now.
The point is to keep your country from abusing those laws. We blew it.

AFAIC, the blood of the OKC victims, and ALL the 9/11 victims, are on THIS WOMAN’S hands, as well as EVERY government agent who covered up the truth about OKC, 9/11, and OU as well! And, if there is EVER another terrorist action that connects to that SAME cell in OK — then they will bear the responsibility for any deaths as well. I hate to say it, but the GOP in charge for the last 8 years is NOT innocent either... There have been PLENTY of opportunities for our government to right the wrongs, and tell the truth... I REALLY wouldn’t want to be in their shoes when they stand before God one day... They may be able to fool PEOPLE, but they will NOT be able to fool GOD. HE can read what’s in their HEARTS and cannot be swayed by pretty words...
