Napolitano Apologizes for Offending Veterans After DHS Eyes Them for 'Rightwing Extremism'

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano apologized to veterans in a FOX News interview after a DHS report labeled returning troops at risk for embracing right-wing extremism.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano apologized to veterans after a report issued by her department said troops returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were at risk for being recruited by right-wing extremists.

"To the extent veterans read it as an accusation ... an apology is owed," she said during an on-air interview on FOX News Thursday, a day after veterans' groups and members of Congress blasted her for the report, which they said libeled members of the armed forces.

"This was an assessment, not an accusation," Napolitano continued. "It was limited to extremists those who seek to commit violence within the United States. And all this was meant to do was to give law enforcement what we call 'situational awareness.'"

"The last thing I want to do is offend or castigate all veterans. To the contrary, let's meet and clear the air," she said.

Liberals never truly apologize for anything they do, even when it's obvious they were wrong. Remember Clinton's “apology”? “I'm sorry all those mean Republicans made me fess up to being a douchebag!” And Hillary's continued reliance on the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy bogeyman? Obumwad’s latest crowd of Marxist lotus-eaters are just rehashing that tried and true liberal ploy. Never really apologize, always qualify it with the implied meaning of “you're too stupid to understand what I mean”.

“Another “gift” from the former Barry Goldwater state. What a dykeputz!”

Yes indeed, the nation’s loss was Arizona’s gain...when Gov. bulldyke left for DC, the State of Arizona is now blessed with a conservative Republican Governor — Jan Brewer.

>I wish there was a way to find out if she did it because the guilt was killing her or because it was political.

I sense that this “apology” is very much political.

>Hey she apologized...John Murtha has not! Do we take that into consideration at all?

Actions speak louder than words, and even a child is known by his doings... watch her actions and that will thell you her heart & mind.

>As Christians what do we do with this situation????

Buy more ammo. Jesus said to give to Cesar what was Cesar’s, but he didn’t say “bend over and take it in the ass from tax-collectors”. Further, if the country truly is “of the People” then how/why are we unable to make our voices and wills known?

I called my brain dead senator and expressed deep concern that those who served their country would be the target of surveillance.

Got a lot of happy talk from the aide but he said no statement would be coming from the senator.

Janet Napolitano served as an attorney for Anita Hill, too.

Team Leader of the Not for Prime Time Players

Here she is, stealing the spotlight from Geitner and deflecting the limelight from BHO's bow to Islamic leaders.

Ralph Peters calls her Janet-from-another-Planet. He's real mad this morning in the New York Post. Says to read both reports, about the Left and the Right.

Link, in case this hasn't been posted.

There are links to both full reports in his column.

Apologies are totally inadequate. This piece of garbage she approved demonstrates defective thinking and a total lack of comprehension on her part of what constitutes a real American.

She failed to apologize to Second Amendment Supporters, people who oppose homosexual marriages, people who oppose illegal aliens, people who oppose globalization, people who and people who support the Federalist concept of government and the 10th Amendment.

Ms. Napolitano is totally unfit for the office she holds and the only correction for this is for her to step down.

If Boehner and McConnell are incapable of finding the testicular fortitude to enunciate the OBVIOUS on this, perhaps THEY should steep down also.

Apologies are NOT enough.

“To the extent veterans read it as an accusation ... an apology is owed,”

That’s not an apology.
