I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
An aside:
cnn.com does not contain a single word of information about the tea parties at this time.
Amazing.
Winchester, VA — 350
If you are the lady with the sign that read “Sorry, we’re taxed enough already”, I have a nice photo of you. That was one of the best.
Huntington, West Virgina - 100 people.
Hundreds of homemade signs, an anti war, anti military contingent was there, I don't think they stayed too long.
150 million Americans sweat it, wonderin if they can get to the post office before midnight.
Meanwhile...
12? 15? 25? MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS drive to work WITHOUT A LICENSE OR INSURANCE and the cops WON’T TOUCH EM!!!!
While you're at it, please give us an estimate of the number of shop windows that Tea Party attendees smashed with rocks, how many attendees were arrested for disorderly conduct, how many cars were overturned and set on fire, approximately how much tear gas was needed to disperse the crowd, etc.
LOLOL!
Good one!
Chicago, Land of Lincoln who freed the slaves and Land of Obama who enslaved the free:
5000 per the lady cop who I asked, estimate.
Estes Park, CO - 300
Roanoke, VA 500-750
It was a good turnout.
Between 125,000 and 150,000 including Roanoke, VA. That’s just 70 cities.
I really looked around to make a realistic estimate and I would say the Grand Rapids Michigan tea party had at leas 3000.
I posted that around 2000 attended in Palm Desert, California -- I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been 200 or less. I'm thinking we're going to see some phenomenal numbers..........not that the media will report them. They sure were a no-show at our event.
We have three network-affiliate television stations in our Coachella Valley, California area.....not ONE of them saw fit to dispatch a news crew to cover an event that drew a huge number.
SoCal-Temecula
Estimated group size was 1000 people or more.
Eustis, Florida 1,500
1,200 signed petition
Small town America, with a few more held within driving distance, middle of the week, middle of the day, larger than the organizer thought, they said they were Overwhelmed...very grassroots, no ads, no politicians, no well known speakers ..just a couple of people brave enough to post a link on one of the tea party sites..and they did an outstanding job!

Kristinn, we were long time lurkers, and were very happy to see you speak in Orlando at Lake Eola!! Thank you for all you do!!!!
Cleveland, Ohio estimated 5,000 by Channel 8 news.
Had my Free Republic sign.. and my sign that said “Crisis is the rallying cry of the tyrant” -James Madison, Right wing extremist
WAUSAU, WI — 150-200 people (estimate — could definitely be more people).
Daughters just came back from the library and are reporting to me that there indeed was a Tea Protest today in Wausau, WI - they estimate the crowd at about 150 people... (Reporting that the “whole square” downtown was FULL of people with more on their way. They walked past at about 6:15-6:30 p.m. — about 15 minutes or so ago...)
Wish I would’ve KNOWN about it, and I wish I wasn’t still sick... I can GUARANTEE there would’ve been more people there had I known there was one in my own dang town (even if I couldn’t be there myself!).
