Napolitano stands by 'extremism' report
The Washington Times ^ | April 16, 2009 | By Audrey Hudson and Eli Lake

Posted on 04/15/2009 12:22:29 PM PDT by MaestroLC

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report sent to law enforcement that lists veterans as a terrorist risk to the U.S. and defines "rightwing extremism" as including groups opposed to abortion and immigration.

The outcry resulted in a demand from the head of the American Legion to meet with Ms. Napolitano, a request the DHS chief said she would honor next week when she returns to Washington from her current tour of the U.S.-Mexican border.

"The document on right-wing extremism sent last week by this department´s Office of Intelligence and Analysis is one in an ongoing series of assessments to provide situational awareness to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies on the phenomenon and trends of violent radicalization in the United States," Ms. Napolitano said in a statement.

"I was briefed on the general topic, which is one that struck a nerve as someone personally involved in the Timothy McVeigh prosecution," Ms. Napolitano said.

"Let me be very clear: we monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don´t have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence," Ms. Napolitano said.

"We are on the lookout for criminal and terrorist activity but we do not — nor will we ever — monitor ideology or political beliefs. We take seriously our responsibility to protect the civil rights and liberties of the American people, including subjecting our activities to rigorous oversight from numerous internal and external sources," Ms. Napolitano said.

Napo is A HYPER-PARTISAN HACK forever seeking MORE FEDERAL CONTROL.

NOW she shows us just how completely manipulated and politicized she has made the DHS. Beware of Janet’s myopic HYPER-PARTISAN LIBERAL EXTREMISM diatribe. This is the real threat; this bogus DHS “intelligence report” is in fact, just a demo party ‘position paper’, intended to offer a (half-baked), but legitimate, security concern. In fact it’s just an overt partisan pretext for another power grab, (and a very sick one at that).

REVIEW Napo’s prior actions re illegal aliens from Mexico (via Familysecuritymatters.org):

“...The reality is that, when it comes to illegal immigration, Napolitano has been all over the place. Parts of her record as governor of Arizona were abysmal. In 2006 and 2007, she was a vocal supporter of the failed federal mass-amnesty bills. Napolitano has opposed the building of border fence. She vetoed legislation that would have ended the ability of illegals to pay lower in-state tuition rates at Arizona public colleges and universities. In 2004, she failed in her attempt to defeat a 2004 ballot initiative to deny most non-essential services and benefits to illegals. After voters ignored Napolitano and overwhelmingly approved the measure, she tried to neuter its effect by limiting it to five relatively small benefit programs. Napolitano also fought implementation of the federal Real ID Act, the 2005 bill requiring states to make their driver’s licenses and other state-issued identity documents more secure and make certain that illegal aliens cannot obtain them. (This was done to prevent a recurrence of the situation in which September 11th hijackers who were illegal aliens carried driver’s licenses and other forms of state-issued ID.) In June of this year, Napolitano signed into law legislation barring Arizona from complying with Real ID...”

- As you know, for Napo and her tribe, illegal aliens are not really illegal nor alien - provided they VOTE to forsake all POWERS to the Demo Demigods.

Indeed it is. That is NOT what I meant to copy and paste.

LOL That's alright, stuff happens. The information was actually fine up until that last paragraph. Then those folks just dropped off the cliff.

Right. I think that is monitored by the Dept. of Commerce and the Dept. of the Treasury now to see that they prosper.

Regerence your posts #71 and my reply in post #165:

In post #71 you asked “Since when is it a crime to reverence our founding fathers, principles and documents?”

In post #165, I responded Since November 4, 2008, or words to that effect.

November 4, 2008 is when the fools, idiots, and parasites elected obama president. Since that date, everything that is good and decent is a crime according to this regime.

I just heard a sound bite on the radio of Napolitano speaking. She is in Mexico ahead of the esteemed one. She stated that we are going to step up the security of the US/Mex border. Not to defend the US, mind you, but to keep guns from the US from getting into Mexico.

First off, what is "Homeland Security doing in Mexico? Who's homeland is going to be protected by this action? And the big one, why aren't we stepping up security to keep drugs and illegals out?
