Zuma to rule South Africa like Zulu king

Zuma’s blueprint for governance accords fairly closely with the descriptions of early anthropologists: like any African king, he will rely on the counsel of wise advisers. This worries Mosiuoa Lekota, the former ANC hero and now a leader of the breakaway Congress of the People. He points out that the Communist party and its allied trade unions played a critical role in the overthrow of Mbeki and believes the left now controls the ANC.

“Even Zuma has said as much,” Lekota noted. “He told the ANC national executive, ‘I owe nobody anything here. The only people I will consult beyond the election is the Communist party and the unions’.”

This places the spotlight on Blade Nzimande, the Communist party general secretary, a Rolling Stones fan whose mantelpiece features photographs of himself with Fidel Castro, Cuba’s former dictator.

“All we’d like to see,” said Nzimande, “is a big cooperative movement, strengthening of the small business sector and better conditions for the working class.” He laughingly refuted the suggestion that he was a social democrat. “Not at all,” he said. “I’m a communist.”

Moeletsi Mbeki, an economist and brother of the former president, notes that the country is already a welfare state, with 13m people – nearly 30% of the population – on state grants. If this collapses, he foresees “massive instability”.

“South Africa is now entering a very risky period,” he said. “Blacks feel they were victimised by whites and are owed a living, so they don’t have to work themselves.” ....

At the conclusion of our interview, I asked Zuma what he planned to do about the inept civil service. “There is no magic bullet,” he said, “but I am a great admirer of King Shaka Zulu, who could be ruthless.”

Shaka smashed the skulls of those who displeased him.

I see he is following the TOTUS reader’s playbook.

believes the left now controls the ANC.

The left has always controlled the ANC.  Now they're just more open to being called Commies.

I guess Mugabe still has his fans.  Where will the people of Zimbabwe go when South Africa is no better?

South Africa reverts to type.

South Africa is on its way to becoming yet another failed African state. The only question is how quickly it will happen.

Zuma sometimes struggles to find the right words in English. He is entirely open about his lack of formal education and presents himself as the humble servant of his party. “I am just a pawn moved into this position by the African National Congress [ANC],” he said. “Not an important piece. Not a knight nor a rook. Just a pawn.”

I wish our media-bama were that “candid” and humble at least.

"Zuma Obama to rule South Africa US like Zulu king"

Fixed it.

“Blacks feel they were victimised by whites and are owed a living, so they don’t have to work themselves.”

Didn't have to do anything to that for it to be correct.

Are there any large groups of blacks, anywhere, who don't claim to be victims?

If (when) South Africa is locked out of credit markets for the next several years as creditors decrease their risk tolerance, the S. African economy will collapse or be thrown into the arms of the Communist Chinese.

And the Chinese will only help S. Africa if China itself has a functioning credit market to be able to extend credit and mercantilist policy abroad to darkest Africa.

South Africa is no longer the world’s largest gold producer. The remaining mines and associated industries can’t maintain consistent energy supply to keep the operations running. The underlying export economy across all sectors has already collapsed. The paradox of thrift will eat away S. Africa’s infrastructure and institutional competence at an extreme pace in the coming 3 or 4 years.

Who knows. M’Beki was a piece of work, and so were Mandela. Can’t be much worse than these squater and AIDS deniers.

Now the Shaka thing was a bit scary. Zuma means market I believe, while Shaka was a nick name meaning shrimp to make fun of his poor stature in a Zulu tribe. It drove him to prove otherwise into a fearsome combined forces war leader (not unlike Napoleon in cleverness) who punished tribesmen who had gang raped his mother.

I’m not sure how this is going to go with the Rolling Stones fan communists.

Maybe we should send Obama on an exchange program. You know, if he is so worldly, let Zuma come here and rule for a month and vice versa. LOL!!!

Yeah, even the village idiot can see where this is going. I wonder if there are enough white people to retake the country and put an end to this nonsense? It is not about numbers (never has been), but know-how and will. The real question is how much do the remaining white people value their families, homes, and lives. Or are they still quaking in their boots at being called racist? It will come down to which they would rather be: perceived racists or actual slaves?

The Chinese will help Zuma stay in power in exchange for South Africa accepting immigration of several million young Chinese men. These men will take over the actual running of the South African economy.

When the time is right, the Africans will then be driven off or exterminated. And the world will not care because it's not a white Western power doing it.

It’s a real shame. Mandela (Nelson, not so much his wife) managed to pull South-Africa out of aparthaid through advocating non-violence and forgiving, much like Gandhi and MLK. Mbeki at least tried to uphold that legacy but all signs point to Zuma going the Zimbabwe way. “Nationalize” all white holdings and drive all skilled white people away.

A friend of mine, a white ex-pat from South Africe said that during Mbeki he was still planning to move back there. After Zuma took over, he won’t even go back there for vacation. Damn shame but South-Africa is circling the drain.

Well, he is a Zulu king. Mbeki was a fairly decent guy. Zuma is not. I looked him up when he had Mbeki thrown out, because I was curious what the effect might be on South African gold stocks.

Not good.
