WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says the captain who survived capture by Somali pirates has courage that is "a model for all Americans."
Obama says he's pleased that Capt. Richard Phillips has been rescued and is on board a Navy ship. Obama says Phillips' safety was his main concern after being held hostage aboard a lifeboat.
Obama says he is proud of the U.S. military and other agencies that worked to free Phillips. The president says the United States needs help from other countries to deal with the threat of piracy and to hold pirates accountable.
The president praised Phillips for his bravery, courage and selfless concern for his crew.

Mr. Obama followed by saying that the capture of Captain Phillips proves that the world still hates us and we need to decrease appropriations to our military forces to put them on par with the Somalian navy.
All went well because Obama was “present” and did nothing.

Uh now we don’t. We just need a leader in the White House. Unfortunately we don’t have one of those.

When you cut procurement programs like the F22 and our missile defense, you open us up to attack, with no protection.
Try to gain some insight from this. This time it was pirates. What happens if it’s China, Russia, and terrorists in combination?
And now for the rest of the story: Obama will be wanting the captured pirates brought to the US so that they can get a fair trial with the ACLU defending them and they must get compensated for the ransom they lost and their time.

Is Obama privately mad that we killed 3 of the 4 pirates? We did far more than “hold them accountable”, we sent them to Allah and the 72 virgins before their time.
allah (intentional small a) needs to call up 215 virgins for the 3 muzzies that were just dispatched. Looking forward for many more to join them. Hope the virgin supply holds out for all that are hopefully to follow!

Absolutely right, why doesn't he just stay "present" and keep quiet NOW as he did during the problem ... ah but no, how can he take credit and be praised unles he comes forward now? Did you every see a President stay further AWAY from a crisis ... now watch, tomorrow, the success will be BECAUSE of him ... thanks to the news media. Ir will be fun to watch them spin this one to his favor when all he was was "present."

Taking money from the government and handing it out like candy? Anyone can do that. Obama is the most unaccomplished President that we have ever elected. He's EVIL and narcissistic.
Pirate side: the will but not the means to attack
Us: the means but not the WILL to attack
We need to be proactive, not reactive:
We need to look around and, well, just attack black dudes in the middle of the ocean, hanging out there for no clear reason. VERY few of these guys in boats are strictly fisherman, or strictly pirates. MOST pirates out there are usually fishing, if only to stretch their food supplies.
So we must discard the idea of pirates NOT having fishing gear, and just swaggering around with parrots and cutlasses and AK’s.
We’re going to have to blast A LOT of dudes looking up with fishing poles and beseeching looks on their faces.
