Obama Failed the Pirates Test Badly And Greatly Emboldened Our Enemies

Obama Badly Failed the Pirates Situtation And Greatly Emboldened Our Enemies The test of the Somali pirates has come and gone and Obama failed this test very badly.

This situation should have been solved easily in the first few hours of the incident by dispatching a Navy Seals team to kill the pirates and prevent anyone from being taken as a hostage. In fact it would have been solved yesterday when the brave Captain attempted to escape but orders were given not to interfere and thus he was recaptured.

When the going gets tough the tough gets going but the weak will fold in cowardice. Obama has shown a shocking weakness in this pirate situation which is relatively very easy compared to the other dangers and threats we are facing and by doing so he greatly emboldened our other more dangerous enemies such as Al Qaeda terrorists, the Taliban terrorists, the Iranian terrorist regime, the North Korean communist regime, Hizballah terrorists, Hamas terrorists, etc... let alone Russia and China.

No matter what we do in this pirate situation it is already too late. Even if we end up killing the pirates and go on to bomb Somalia the horrible fact is that Al Qaeda terrorists, the Taliban terrorists, the Iranian terrorist regime, the North Korean communist regime, etc... now know for certain that Obama is the weakest President ever and they are going to take full advantage of this and cause us a lot of harm.

That is the big picture we should be looking at and that is the situation that we are in now. It is a very messy situation and it going to get much worse in the future.

Obama has already shown the world that he is weak. The world knows that the democrat leadership are all cowards.

I do not believe that it’s a coincidence that within days of Obama Appeasement Tour— symbolized by bowing to the King of rag-heads, the pirates decide they can now take on a ship under a USA flag.... the first time in hundreds of years.

So now we live in a world wherein 6 guys with a six-pack and a couple of rifles can hold off US Navy warships.... while the entire world looks on.

Regardless of how this turns out, the worlds most famous Surrender Monkey in Chief has already failed and lost his war with these pirates.

Strange, it took less time for Obama and the dems to pass and sign into law trillions of dollars of debt, that they didn’t even bother to read-— than the time it’s taking to come up with 2 million dollars.

I wonder, is Obama hidden in an office waiting for ACORN to resolve this for him.

Elections have consequences.

I totally agree that it ‘appears’ they’ve been told to not interfere and that our Navy would’ve acted had they had the authority.

This just needs to come out in print as I think that will be a BIG turning point for the perception of this loser and his utter lack of interest in protecting American citizens.

It is not a made up scenario. Tell me why we do not have a stealth Navy Seals team in the waters next to the boat that would have taken advantage yesterday of the brief moment where the brave Captain attempted to escape but no one there to help him? Are you telling me that if there is a Navy Seals team present next to tiny pirates boat and orders were given to interfere they would not be able to free the Captain and kill the pirates during the captain escape attempt yesterday?

Eric Holder is mulling “criminal charges” against the seafaring jihad extortionists. I’m sure they’re shaking in their flippers.

It’s true, he jumped out of the boat but the pirates jumped in after him and recaptured him. The US navy stood by and did nothing to help. They are under orders not to do anything.

This really started before akaObama. We seem to have adopted the mentality that every American life must be saved, no matter what the cost in liberty and/or treasure to the rest of us. So I cannot take a regular tube of toothpaste on an airplane. I really hope nothing happens to the poor captain but I hope more that nothing happens to the United States of America. I really mean nothing. Not one dime. Not one second of humiliation.

Elections have consequences.

Absolutely. We are paying and will continue to pay very heavy price domestically and abroad for this man total incompetence, his socialism, his left wing liberalism, and his defeatism toward our enemies.

One has to wonder if the captain may have thought/hoped that Navy Seals were in the area to rescue him once he dove into the water.

It is unlikely he would have jumped if he had no knowledge of any help close by.

Not one second of humiliation.

Too late on this one. We have been already badly humiliated.

Even the French yesterday attacked the pirates and freed few French hostages.

Compare & contrast:
“Finally in 1801, with Jefferson as the new President, the country had enough. Three months after Jefferson’s inauguation, after refusing to pay Tripoli’s demand for immediate payment of $225,000 and an annual payment of $25,000, the Bashaw of Tripoli cut down the flagstaff at the U.S. consulate and declared war. Jefferson ordered the frigates President, Essex, and Philadelphia and the sloop Enterprise, under Commodore Richard Dale, to patrol the North African coast and to bombard Tripoli.”

I am certain that if the Navy Seals were in the waters and given the orders to interfere yesterday when the captain attempted to flee that they would have freed him and killed the pirates. They are trained on all levels to accomplish these missions.

Also if the Navy Seals were dispatched in the first few hours of this incident, i.e. 4 days ago then we would not have this problem at all.

“...and his defeatism toward our enemies.”

Were I a terrorist, boarding ships at sea all over the world... would become my new hobby. Killing everyone onboard and sinking the ships would make a significant impact around the world.

Were I a terrorist, I would see the USA as a very plump and ripe tomato that is ready to pick.

“You are right except that 47% of Americans voted against this man and thus they are not stupid.”

You are so right. The 52% that did vote for this lame excuse voted for him because this was what he campaigned on. Change. Before Change “America will not back down from terrorism”, Change, America will sit idly by and do nothing. Change sucks.

THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY OUR LEADER NEEDS TO HAVE A MILITARY BACKGROUND (SANS JIMMAH CAHTER). No instead we get an incompetent islamic dodo bird who feels he can reason with pirates and bow to dictators and kiss their hand to play nice. GGGGGRrrrrrrr!!!!!!

This situation should have been solved easily in the first few hours of the incident by dispatching a Navy Seals team to kill the pirates and prevent anyone from being taken as a hostage.

"Amateurs talk tactics. Professionals talk logistics." ... General Omar Bradley

How, exactly, were you going to project the SEAL team to the scene "in the first few hours"?

By having Scotty beam them directly to the bridge of the Maersk Alabama ?

Cool your jets until the logistics of a SEAL team operation are at the scene. We are still in the 21st Century and the logistics of projecting power to any point on the other side of the Planet still takes more than just a "few hours".

USS Boxer (LHD-4) -- - - Wasp-class amphibious assault ship that will soon be at the scene

The pirates are in a better position to prevail than we are. They have plenty of hostages ashore from other countries.

I can think of a quick solution for the pirates to prevail, and get the two million but would not suggest it lest they do it, and I would feel I might have encouraged the idea.

I am surprised they haven't figured it out yet.

The longer this goes on, the better chance for those pirates ashore to come up with a plan to get the 2 million, and not loose any pirate's lives. - tom
