Does anybody else think this guy is shockingly ignorant? I wonder if he has every really talked to a concentration camp survivor, or a Cuban refugee, or a boat person from Vietnam? Or a Soviet dissident. Or a survivor or Mao's purges.
Not to mention families with fallen American soldiers in the graveyards. Yes, he's going to Normandie, but will he apologize for our arrogance there, too? Does he really understand anything beyond the PC history of the world? Or will he just lie in his photo op at the American Cemetery at Normandie?
Ahhh, those arrogant Americans. First they rebel against King George III and all the crowned heads of Europe. Then they welcome tens of millions of poor and persecuted people from the Old World. Then they fail to bow down to Europe's greatest figures -- from Napoleon and Otto von Bismarck to the Kaiser, Hitler and Stalin. Then they fight a civil war, losing half a million people to liberate black people in America. Then they diss the man the BBC considers to be the greatest philosopher ever, one Karl Marx, whose followers killed 100 million innocents in the 20th century. And then, to top it all off, they liberate both the Western half of Europe (in 1946) and the Eastern half (in 1989).
What arrogance these Americans have. Either that, or a very, very -- no, stunningly -- ignorant man was just elected president. What kind of man has such an obsessive need to put down his own country? Especially given our real history? Has he ever read an honest history book?

This clown has compromised with the devil every day of his life, just to prove he’s not arrogant.
Meanwhile, he displays his own brand of arrogance to make the point that socialism is the answer to the failures of conservatism.
All one had to do was take seriously his assocations which were out there for all to see. America hating rev. wright mentored, and was a father figure to him for two decades. Had he not been exposed he probably would be zero’s spiritual advisor in the WH today.
Stupidity is downright dangerous...
Yes, since before he was inaugurated AND especially after the Temple in the Stadium event.
Oh, but we had to elect “the cool black guy” and “be part of an historic event!”

Which one is the cool black guy...obammmma or his wife
The little one, not the linebacker...
No. I'd be willing to bet the only book he's read on American history is Howard Zinn's execrable A People's History of the United States. A dangerously bad book when it appeared in 1976 and ferociously destructive given that's it's been used in high school history classes for over 30 years now -- almost two full generations of students who have not read an honest history of the United States, not even a liberal one, but only an avowedly Marxist anti-American history.
The same kind of man who married someone who isn’t proud of her country.
"....What kind of man has such an obsessive need to put down his own country? ...."
Obama is not a product of Middle America. Hell, he is not a product of the United States. He was raised in a foreign country, then lived a sheltered life until college. Columbia and Harvard are hardly institutions of everyday America.
His constituents in Chicago were inner city, poor, followers of Black Liberation Theology.
No wonder he says they suburbs bore him. He has no clue what it means to be a middle, working class American from flyover country.
He puts this country down because that was his environment all of his life. That is what he knows. That is what he was taught.
Agreed. As impossible as it may seem to the reasonable thinking mind, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot, Hitler, etc., etc., all had their supporters; people who were willing to follow their dear leader through the gates of hell, and the horrible suffering that followed their version of "right" came under the banner of "Gee, that's too bad." And that has been my fear from before the first primary: that this guy actually believes he can achieve the unachievable: fairness...
People who get sold on collectivism (usually those who think they’ve been shorted somehow in a competitive society) are convinced, or convinced by those in power,
that there is an ultimate solution at the end of all the hardship,
so they’re willing to suffer, and/or allow oppression and genocide,
because of the promise of that ultimate utopia at the end of it all.
Just last night, and on his own, Junior B asked what socialism is. He hears my running commentary every day about Hussein but it appears his classmates are wising up to what’s happening in the world outside themselves. Perhaps there’s hope after all.
I guess if a country were to free the world, cure the world, feed the world, protect the world and never ask for anything in return they would be considered humble and not arrogant.
This partial line from Shakespeare is appropriate for this clown: “....The evil that men do lives long after them....” more so because there will no good that lies with his bones.

It's my opinion that we are being much to generous and naive when we refer to “The One” as ignorant. He is not ignorant at all. He is very intelligent which makes he and his minions all the more dangerous as he has an insidious, evil plan to transform this country to socialism, even more dangerous is that it is becoming apparent that his vision of socialism may be not of the passive European version but more with a bias toward the Fascist (dictator, personal quasi-military org such as his proposed gov civil defense org, privately owned business but managed by gov, etc) version...
