The outcome of a special Congressional election in New Yorks 20th Congressional District will likely turn on the illegal exclusion of up to 1,000 overseas military ballots, which otherwise would have tipped the race in favor of James Tedisco (R). Tedisco and Scott Murphy (D) are in a dead heat, with 77,225 votes each.
Democrats on the state elections board blocked GOP attempts to allow overseas military voting in the special election. Overseas ballots take weeks to reach voters and be returned unless special measures are taken to speed things up. But the elections officials refused to do anything to speed things up, or mail the ballots out early enough. The result is that perhaps 90 percent of the ballots will be tossed in the trash without ever being counted. (Military ballots are cast mostly for Republican candidates).

The third party loone was a nice help to the Democrat candidate as they usualy are.
It seems to me that democrats care more about counting the votes of bums and illegal aliens, than the votes of people who’ve sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears for the very freedom to hold elections.
I wish I could think of one honorable democrat...but I can’t.
F'ing hypocrites. Yeah... the dems are so in love with the military.
Mail sent without postage (free mail - e.g. military absentee ballots going and coming) do not require postmarks.
Never have.
Back in the 2000 election the Democrats beat down election board folks so they'd reject overseas military ballots that had not been postmarked even though neither the military nor USPS postmarked this free matter. USPS was prepared to rule on the matter if the Republicans had asked.
Fundamentally, the states have no authority to demand postmarks - it's a strictly federal matter!
Vince Flynn's novel from some years ago, Term Limits, would be even more interesting today, I should think, if he would be so kind as to update it.
And just which part of The Constitution do these DimWits not understand?
count every vote for the welfare recipients.
there were a few threads about the special election for NY20. That question may have been addressed but I do not recall.
I agree with you that something should be done to insure that the ballots get to them in time.
Actually, they're being quite consistent. They tried to throw out the absentee military vote in 2000 as well.
“Hows that for looking out for out military men and women?”
This is just the beginning. Having served under both Carter and Clinton...we ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
“We the people of the United States”. ;0)

Aren’t Democrats loathsome creatures?
thank you. It was.
What do you expect from the sissies who join the Air Force?
USN Retired
That is just wrong on so many levels!...but typical of
liberals to suppress votes that they know won’t be for them!
Yes, and from the same bunch that wanted to “count every vote” in Florida in 2000.
War zones need 45 days to ensure the ballots will return on time, but Obamas Justice Dept. only gave them 30 days.
Jim Tedisco needs lawyers to fight this, and you can help him out here:

Or send a check made out to Tedisco Ballot Integrity Fund and mail it to:

Im going to include a few brief comments about what I would like Jim to do when he (hopefully) goes to Congress.
Yes they did...but what is good for the goose is not necessarily
good for the gander in their world!
