Barack Obama, the World's Greatest Orator (™all news organisations), didn't exactly cover himself in glory when the BBC's political editor Nick Robinson asked him a question about who was to blame for the financial crisis. Normally word perfect, Obama ummed, ahed and waffled for the best part of two and a half minutes. Here, John Crace decodes what he was really thinking ...

I thought this was really funny... mostly because it is how we hear Obama all the time.

:D

I believe this was the first difficult question that Obama has handled since the spring of 2008, and you could tell by the facial expression...this was way outside of his orator ability.

Personally....I’d like to reserve a seat in the White House press corps for this Robinson dude...and be entertained by his questions. He might only get one of these in per year....but it’d be worth watching.

I would like to put Obama in front of a camera with Nick Robinson and MEP Daniel Hannan. That would be worth watching!

Did you see where Obama was giving a speech and he was saying the word LIBERTY in French and he got stuck and fumbled? I wonder if he had someone in his ear telling him he screwed up the pronunciation or if the teleprompter went on the blitz for a minute.

The proper response should be like, “People have been led to believe that they can expect something for nothing and the government has been supporting this stupid and idiotic idea.”

Once again, we have a smarmy talking head who is lost without his teleprompter. As much as I despise bill clinton, at least he could talk off the cuff (he felt your pain). Obami is way over his pay grade, as he even admitted. We’re so screwed, most of us don’t even know it yet. But he is pretty and articulate with his teleprompters. He is all that is “cool”, and that’s what our Nation is now about.

You know reading this I keep thinking about how badly GW Bush would’ve been harassed for flubbing something like this up. I don’t watch the daily show but for some reason I doubt they have been nearly as harsh to the great Obomber.

Obama is just going to get deeper. He was all fluff and speeches and that isn’t going to get him through the next four years. I even caught while flipping through the channels what appeared to be a bit of consternation towards Obama from his Lesbian love interest Rachael Maddow. (Man she is worse for the wear on TV, her novelty has really worn off)

I don’t understand why more ppl in the MSM are not pissed off that Obama insulted this country to other leaders. Well, I understand why they are not pissed off but I am surprised that no politicians or other leaders are not saying a word about it.

Is everyone in DC afraid of him or something?

Everyone knows the World’s Greatest Orator left the Oval Office twenty years ago.

Yep, 53% of the voters were stupid enough to vote this guy in. But then I guess we needed to give them a better choice than McPain.

Not fair to separate the dummy from the ventriloquist (sp?) and expect the dummy to talk.

Just like the dems to offer up someone who pales so much in comparison. To think he’s occupying the same Office as Washington, Jefferson, and Ronald Reagan is such a disgrace.

The rest of the world quickly caught on that he is not ‘professorial’ like the American MSM tries to make him seem.

Or taking in amateur hour on display week the cheeky Europeans will roast him next week, when the whole 500 person entourage is gone.

Obama, couldn't order at a drive through window, with out crib notes.

I've never found him mesmerizing but maybe thats because I actually listened to him and didn't project my desires through his empty rhetoric.

It is almost pied piper - ish, the way people seem to believe obama, is addressing just them.......weak minds.
