Video up on Youtube from Spanish? Television clearly shows it is a bow. The Saudi’s protocol director appears at pains to bow as well so as not to extend the gaffe.

I looked through 40 pages of "President bowing" on Google image search, and this is the only image I could find of a US President doing so to a person. I don't think it is protocol for a President to bow to a religious figure, and certainly not to a Head of State.
Must have been a boring speech or whatever, judging from the guys in the background.

The “lowering of the head” is a HUGE thing... It’s the lowering of the head that makes it SUBMISSIVE, not the bow itself...
I’m curious if you’ve ever had any Martial Arts training? Bowing to show respect is something I learned from my Sensei as a White Belt beginner in Budo Akido (years and years ago)... And, we were taught NEVER to cease eye contact with the bow, otherwise it WOULD show submission...
