I am quite certain that this is not the protocol, and is most unbecoming a President of the United States. |
The proper way to do this would be to bow to exactly the same level as they do. Thus you are showing yourself to be an equal, not superior, not inferior.
However, to the Queen, unless she is doing so in kind, we should not bow or curtsey to her.
To do so indicates we are subjects, not equals. Heads of state should be considered equals.
Personally, I think the current residents of 1600 PA Ave., are doing everything they can to embarrass this country, whether by design, or ignorance.
Yes, the 1700s were long ago, but we determined at that time, we would no longer bow to England's Royalty.
A little exercise for you; take one step forward (which is about all he could take in the close proimity) now bow, check the position of your legs. As far as looking down I am more inclined to believe that he bowed and kiss the Kings ring and thats what they are looking at.
thus far he and his wife have showed that they have no class and are more suited to the inner city slum, or with their pals at the black panthers
I agree with everything you said. I still don't think, unless the Queen returns a bow or curtsey in kind, we should bow or curtsey to her. Heads of state are equals, not superior, or inferior.
I can completely see what you are saying, but this is NOT what our enemies - especially our Muslim enemies - will be reading into this picture. It will not matter what the REAL reason even IS, or WHY. The picture has been taken, and there you have it... Appearances can be deceiving, but again it matters not the REAL explanation (if indeed this wasn’t a bow...).
Think of the people walking by newsstands across the world with this picture on the front — again a picture is worth a thousand words. And, this is exactly why protocol - which the Obama’s seem to think they are “above” and don’t have to follow - is important. Maybe it’s silly, or archaic, but it’s the way things are, and have been for centuries - developed over those centuries. Actions have meaning, and just like the “gifts” the Obama’s have handed out this is a complete and total embarrassment to the U.S.. And, in fact, may signal something much, much worse — again even if unintended — such as capitulation to the Saudis. Our enemies will take this as a sign - you can count on it.
And makes sense....knowing Zero.
If true...makes me want to cuss!
Snicker. Heck, Jethro did, too.
God money I’ll do anything for you.
God money just tell me what you want me to.
God money nail me up against the wall.
God money don’t want everything he wants it all.
...
Bow down before the one you serve.
You’re going to get what you deserve.
I didn't think of the ring angle...
I hope I am right...but knowing Zero I don't doubt it now.
Makes sense...knowing Zero.

Another picture with the wrong caption! Caption should have read: Student pilot’s navigational error results in tragic plane crash.
I heard that for the first time he now is doing a press conference
Now this idiot just loves to be in the limelight doesn’t he.
I ma convinced that he has no clue what he is doing and seems to treat this job as a job for him and his wife to do what ever they want and be treated like rock stars .
ref your last posts to me I understand what you are saying
Curtsied
You can see that the King is looking at ‘Zero’ not the floor and I believe you can tell that his right hand is extended.
you beat me to it..i just found that link. Thanks for posting it!
True..he could be doing an episode of "Mythbusters." You know, the one that explains why you do not shake the right hand of someone in an Arab Country...
A radical Muslim named Khalid Al-Mansour helped Barack Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law. http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2008/08/obamas-benefact.html

It's a partial lean to kiss the King's ring.
Sick....
I'm sure the MSM DBM will all have tingling feelings up their legs....
But guess what.....the AP or Getty...got it wrong. Ha!!
Spot on.
Terrorists are ululating in the street.
I guess to really know for sure the protocol for the First Lady we’d have to look back at what has happened when other first ladies have met her. I don’t recall Nancy Reagan ever curtsying, even to the Queen...
Most of the video footage I’ve seen involves the Queen meeting with England’s various diplomats and such, but that’s a completely different situation. Even Chruchill bowed to the King, didn’t he — after all they are her subjects despite their role in HER government... Even Tony Blair and his wife had to back out of the room when dismissed from a meeting unless the Queen left first...
The saddest thing I think this shows is that WE, the COMMON people are more concerned about protocol and decorum, and maintaining our dignity on the world stage than our OWN PRES_ENT! If WE know better than to make it even APPEAR as if we were bowing to another head of state, Obama has NO EXCUSE for this “faux pas” (if that’s really what it is... and I still have my doubts about that. His campaign (and his education) was financed by SOMEONE, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if at least a few of those “someones” were Saudis!).
As for those who say he may have dropped something — he should’ve let someone else come and pick it up... He is the Pres_ent. One of the princes, or any of their aides could’ve picked up whatever he had dropped — or he could’ve squatted to pick it up — like a girl does when wearing a skirt. Again, this may sound silly, but some of these stupid things are important again in the eyes of others...
