"Don't think we're not keeping score, brother." That's what President Barack Obama said to Rep. Peter DeFazio in a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus last week, according to the Associated Press.
A few weeks ago, Mr. DeFazio voted against the administration's stimulus bill. The comment from Mr. Obama was a presidential rebuke and part of a new, hard-nosed push by the White House to pressure Congress to adopt the president's budget. He has mobilized outside groups and enlisted forces still in place from the Obama campaign.
Senior presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett and her chief of staff, Michael Strautmanis, are in regular contact with MoveOn.Org, Americans United for Change and other liberal interest groups. Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina has collaborated with Americans United for Change on strategy and even ad copy. Ms. Jarrett invited leaders of the liberal interest groups to a White House social event with the president and first lady to kick off the lobbying campaign.
Its targets were initially Republicans, as team Obama ran ads depicting the GOP as the "party of no." But now the fire is being trained on Democrats worried about runaway spending.
Americans United is going after Democrats who are skeptical of Mr. Obama's plans to double the national debt in five years and nearly triple it in 10. The White House is taking aim at lawmakers in 12 states, including Democratic Sens. Kent Conrad, Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor. MoveOn.Org is running ads aimed at 10 moderate Senate and House Democrats. And robocalls are urging voters in key districts to pressure their congressman to get in line.

Of course. The votes in Nebraska, North Dakota, Arkansas, & Louisiana do not support Obama or his agenda. Every one of those states went for McCain by large margins. These senators, while they may be Dems, will not vote for things like cap and trade or card check just to stay on Chairman Unicorn’s good side.
What an ugly administration.
Further proof - you can take the thug out of the ghetto but you can’t get the ghetto out of the thug...
In Obama’s case - it’s in his Kenyan DNA - if in fact Obama of Kenya was the Negro who knocked up his round heeled slut of a mother.
Hey, ZERO? Childish and insecure MUCH?
Obama is a pizza chit.
Someone really needs to inform him that he is NOT a dictator who can threaten those around him or else....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Evil, lowlife .... PING!
Michelle’s man-arms...Barry’s purple lips...I’ve had enough already!
Unfortunately, he is. U.S. citizens freely decided that they want a dictator that they can love and who will take care of them. It was a grand experiment while it lasted.
Some of the guys voting against the stimulus may feel vulnerable, but I doubt DeFazio is one of them.
I am all for us targeting those who are vulnerable. We can also target those that got it both ways. I'm sure those that voted against the stimulus still got their pork in there. In the past Ron Paul got money for shrimp research but hasn't voted for a budget in years.
Hot dog! This couldn't get interesting since they run as conservatives during elections (and Blanche is up for reelection). Now, let's see them vote for Obama's budget and claim to be conservatives!
I’m keeping score too, and Obambi gets a big ZERO!
That is exactly what he is, a little Chicago punk!
Succinct and elegant.
Ugh...you are probably right and that just yanks my chain...I’ve done more sighing and head shaking in the last 60 days than I ever have in my life...
I actually got a peer of mine at work today to admit she made a mistake in voting for presentdent the wrong way...I let her know that our salarys and the small incentive bonus her team got this month might be controlled by Congress and the prez in teh very near future...the only positive is people who have been and probably are reasonable most of hte time are being hit by the smelling salts of this rancid adminstration...I really think 2010 will be a walloping as there are enough p’o’d people and the conseratives are amassing and will find good candidates and 2012 will be the end of this insanity...
The guy probably wears Chairman Mao pajamas to bed.
LOLROTF! Thats a good one!
bump for later
Vee haf vays of dealing mit dose who do not support us, DeFazio!
Vee vill fix all dese auto problems mit ze perfect auto, the people’s car, the hybrid. Vee can call it the Volkswagen .... ach, dat name is already used.
Call in the storm troopers...uh, uhh, uhhh, I mean call in MoveOn.org and de udder political groups...ja, ja, dat sounds much better than storm troopers.
I don’t think there’s anyone in Washington left to do that, really... Do you? They all seem to be falling all over themselves to help him SECURE a dictatorship — yes, even the Republicans...
