Judicial Nominee Says Prayers to Allah Okay, But Not to Jesus
The Traditional Vaules Coalition ^ | 3/26/09

Posted on 03/31/2009 7:31:29 PM PDT by Revel

True to his campaign promises, President Barack Hussein Obama has picked a rabid judicial activist as his first federal court pick. Judge David Hamilton has been chosen by Obama to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Hamilton is precisely what Obama wants in a judge: Someone who ignores the Constitution and imposes his own liberal ideas on each case. Hamilton will have what Obama calls “empathy” for the poor, child molesters, abortionists, murderers, etc.

Hamilton has ideal liberal credentials. He is a former ACLU lawyer and was a fundraiser for the corrupt group known as ACORN. This organization engages in fraudulent voter registration campaigns and is deeply involved in housing and poverty issues. Obama was an attorney for ACORN when he worked as a “community organizer” in Chicago. ACORN will be gathering data for the 2010 Census.

This lawyer is so radical that the liberal ABA rated him as “not qualified” when Bill Clinton nominated him for a district court post in 1994.

As a judge, Hamilton was a friend of abortionists, criminals, drug pushers and child sex offenders. He made is easier for child sex offenders to move around Indiana by invalidating a law designed to protect children. He helps criminals by suppressing evidence and warrants. He has ruled against waiting periods for those women seeking abortions.

Hamilton is also an enemy of the First Amendment and religious freedom. Interestingly enough, Hamilton has ruled that prayers in Jesus Name at the Indiana House of Representatives was unconstitutional, but prayers to Allah were not.

The Senate Judiciary Committee should soundly reject him as an out-of-control radical who has no respect for the Constitution or the rule of law. With a liberal majority on this committee, however, it is likely that Hamilton will be easily approved and his nomination will then go to the full Senate for confirmation. With a liberal majority in the Senate, his confirmation is virtually assured.

Hamilton’s confirmation will be one more nail in the coffin of freedom in America – and Obama will have been the hammer.

This is one of the foreseen consequences of those conservatives who chose to not vote in November or to advocate letting the Democrat win so the Republicans would “learn their lesson”. Elections have consequences far beyond the next election and appointing judges to lifetime posts is one of those consequences.

Yes, and whenever we tried to raise this flag, we were accused of "fearmongering". I wasn't keen on McCain, either, but his administration would have been NOTHING -- repeat, NOTHING -- like this!

Everybody needs to encourage their Republican senators to filibuster ALL of Obama’s radical judicial nominations.

Spread the word, start the movement. Even if it doesn’t stop Hamilton, it can be the beginning of stopping more in the future.

“...insert question ...or is he just that incompetent?”

Yeah, the never ending question. Is he really that stupid or crazy like a fox. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard that question! I lean towards incompentent, with blatant bias towards personal causes. He’s definity not for the people.

Yes I know. Things were rosy back in 98 compared to now. I never thought it would happen this fast either. Too many people feel asleep while the other side was waging war. Now it somehow feels almost impossible to stop the steam roller of the liberal socialist machine. The number of reasons to feel hopeless are immense.

Yes I am interested in the courts CF. The most insidious branch of government and the one we don’t get a vote on.

“This lawyer is so radical that the liberal ABA rated him as “not qualified” when Bill Clinton nominated him for a district court post in 1994.”

DUN DUN DUN. Too radical for the ABA is now called “Moderate”. Bob Byrd has some scant respect for the constitution, I guess he’s a radical rightwinger in the new paradigm.

I would have liked to see the Indiana state house tell him to shove it. How could the a selective prayer ban be enforced?

“One peculiar aspect of Hamilton’s ruling is how he drew the line between “sectarian” and “non-sectarian” prayers. On the one hand, Hamilton made clear that prayers that “use Christ’s name or title” are sectarian. On the other hand, he ruled (on a post-judgment motion) that it is presumptively not sectarian for a Muslim imam to offer a prayer to “Allah”:”

That makes no sense at all.

This is the consequence of the republicans nominating JOHN MCCAIN as a candidate for president....

NO IT IS NOT ! as was said earlier

So you think the small percentage of conservatives that stayed home because they didn’t like McCain were responsible for Obama’s victory, rather than the party that nominated McCain in the first place?

Do you honestly believe this is THE primary reason Hussein was elected?

Honestly, I believe the media is responsible for Hussein being elected. Even if the republicans would have nominated a good conservative candidate, the bias from the media in every way would have been impossible to overcome. Especially after two terms of Bush, that were far from a model of conservative governance.

I think he is spitting in our faces. He hates the country and wants to destroy it. Every one of his selections for any office or position has been tainted.

That is no mistake. He wants Americans to squirm while he insults the very notion of our Republic. This guy is a monster.

I can’t decide who I have more contempt for, him or the brainwashed idiots who voted for him.

If that’s the case, we’ll never win another election.

AFAIC, the GOP failed in another Dole moment.

Not OK. Most of our country is Christian. We do not need judges like this.

The choice America was offered in the last election was death on the installment plan (McCain) or death in one fell swoop (Obama).

Unfortunately, due in large part to the “education” young Americans have received over several decades has made it seem to far too many people that the latter was an acceptable choice.

How this death occurs remains to be seen, of course, but the end product, whatever it is, will have to be laid at Obama’s feet.

We are about to enter a very difficult, very dangerous time.

Be ready, my FRiends!

0bama and his administration are just the fruition of a movement started a hundred years ago. Most people don’t believe that which is exactly why it is coming about successfully.
