Women's Right to Vote, the Beginning of the End for America?
Chico Enterprise Record ^ | 3/29/09 | OneVike

From the day the founding Fathers risked their liberty and life by signing the Declaration of Independence, there has been those who have wanted to sink this great ship called the United States of America. Well 143 years later the good ship America took a torpedo hit that at the time seemed like just another glancing blow. What many still consider the greatest step forward in equality for the sexes, was more then just a glancing blow however. It was in fact a deadly strike that entered the very heart of the ship and has been smoldering since. The damage caused by the 19th amendment was slow in its destruction, but after almost 100 years we can now see how complete the destruction really was.

Seesh, I think at least part of the argument is that women make the decision about who to vote for on a more emotional level than men.

Yet, in arguing AGAINST the idea that women shouldn’t vote you get all emotional?

That sort of re-enforces the other sides argument doesn’t it?

The statistics on this question don't lie.

But they are misleading a bit.

What makes the women's vote what it is (lib mostly) is that enough white women vote lib unlike white men that when coupled with the monolithic minority women's lib vote it makes women's stats more tilted left.

It would be nice to turn back the clock to save our country but it's too late.

best solution would be to require some sort of requirement to stop this pure democracy voting but instead we are letting almost anyone vote period.

The Dems love it and with good reason.

The concept the founders have that only capable voters should vote is lost on the dumbass culture.

Yet, in arguing AGAINST the idea that women shouldn’t vote you get all emotional?

I did? Where?

So I ask again, are you blaming women for all the problems that this country has now?

Do you mean to say that there weren't any wars, taxes, corruption in business and politics before women had the vote? That all men vote conservative and all women vote liberal so that men can blame the condition of this country on women instead of accepting the blame for their part in it?

Was it a woman who was instrumental in the success of the Federalists near the foundation of this country, or was it a man? Seems to me that Alexander Hamilton is a man's name.

Oh yes, it's so clear that women are to blame for the way this country turned out........

Women think with their emotions? Is that really any worse than men who think with their hormones? Men are far more controlled by their hormones than they care to admit. All they can seem to think about is how to BEAT someone at something and be able to make others do what they want. Control freaks personified, as seen on this thread with the advocating of the subjection of women that is seen even here.

Remind me again of how many despots in history were women?

He talks about how he voted with emotion instead of with logic when he was a Democrat.

Oh? Does he mean that men aren't perfect after all?

Voting with their emotion? Say it ain't so.

After we can't vote, does that mean we lose our privilege to drive as well? Then we get the windows in our houses painted black? We get stoned if we let skin show?

I guess we need to learn our place, we uppity women.

No thanks.

And while you’ll coast along with your head in the clouds, pardon me while I recognize things are a little more serious than that.

So you think that you know better than us what's good for us even if we don't see it ourselves, and that you should be in a position to make our decisions for us by virtue of the fact that you're a man?

Spare me.

I've sen that kind of mentality at work in other parts of the world and no thanks. Burkas are not my idea of high fashion.

Women are more willing than men to trade freedom away for security.

It’s reflected in their voting too.

Was Alexander Hamilton a woman?

So women are more willing to trade trade freedom away for security? Men are more willing to just grab what they want and take away freedom from others by force. Kind of like how they think that they know better than women and make better decisions and this country wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in if women didn’t have the vote.

Nice.

I am no mind reader but could well be that this first post set the 'stage' for what kind of responses were made, then each subsequent post fed off each other.

Good point about my opening statement on my article. I also agree that there has been a lot of feeding frenzy of comments that probably could have been stated differently.

It would be cool if we could all have a logical levelheaded debate about the subject and step back away from the inflammatory remarks that just feeds the flame until it is completely out of control.

That is why I spend more time deflecting red herrings that have nothing to do about my point, then I do with any intellectual discussion on the merit of my main point.

Another thing,
People really have a hard time stepping back in time with the idea of wondering what if I did not have, do, or allow something that I now must live with, whether it is good or bad. It is a difficult thing for us humans to do. God tells us all the time "Do not or else. Then we do what he told us not to do and must live with the consequence.

Many times the consequence comes with bad things that actually have what we might think are good side effects. Do we ever consider that if we went back and changed what we did that we would also lose that good side effect. Thus it is that good side effect that we dearly hold onto and fight anyone who try's to take it from us.

My wife said “In all actuality that is probably true...”

Then she whacked me in the head and laughed uproariously.

It was amazing. I have been fighting a pack of hornets all day. It would seem someone alerted a bunch of liberals. Which was actually good.

I am now working on my next radio active thought that I hope is as inflammatory as this was. It will be very difficult to match the success of this though. But it has been fun.

“It’s dangerous to make broad generalizations.”

Did you write that with a straight face (considering the subject matter, of course)

IMHO, it’s not women who got us into this mess. I think that only taxpayers should be allowed to vote.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

If we could have taxpayers only voting I think I would not worry about too many other restrictions. The biggest error has to be letting those who do not support the cost of government elect the government. It is too much like letting the children write the family budget.
