The Mexican Grackles have moved in - they’re a very pretty bird with a splash of yellow over the shoulder just like a red-winged blackbird.
But loud? Not just loud - raucous loud - obnoxious loud - incessantly annoyingly painfully loud!
I walked out the back door at work this evening to come home and surprised a pair of quail that had been strolling through the parking lot. And we’re smack dab in the middle of town. I love to hear quail calling to each other. It’s a very plaintive sound that is immediately recognizable and a pleasure to hear.

Kid rooted deeply in the fridge and came up with a cup of pudding.. But it expired in Oct 2008.
Had the 3 yr old climb and get the meds and feed them to the 1 yr old.
