As you know, Gov. Palin gave a speech last night at the Lincoln Dinner in Anchorage. We're still waiting for some audio or video of the speech, but we do have some "field reporting" from two people who attended the dinner. We got a play by play from "jasonthealaskan" who twittered the speech (until his phone died). Jason now has a blog post up about the dinner. He recounts a great joke from the governor's speech:
The dinner was catered by the Hilton Hotel, they were serving pork. She said, and this was pretty funny, "I've just passed on a second meal of pork given to me." Just yesterday, Gov. Palin announced that she would be returning a good chunk of the stimulus money.

She said that just before the VP debate with Biden she was looking for someone to pray with as she felt that was the way she needed to begin this battle.
She could find no one from McCain’s staffers that she felt “like holding hands with” so she called Piper over to pray with her.
Of course Piper responded with “Mommy, why do you need to pray?” Sarah told her that she wanted to get God’s help to give her the right words to say during the debate so that she could win the debate.
To which Piper replied: “But mommy, that’s cheating!"
