You can find the full roll call vote on HR 1586, tax cheat Charlie Rangel’s ass-covering, after-the-fact AIG bonus tax here. I have broken out the 85 Republicans (led by GOP Minority Whip Eric Cantor) who voted with Rangel and the Democrat demagogues.

The Senate will not even look at it this month and their bill wants 70%. It ain’t going to happen.

I can’t argue with the continuing assault on the Constitution, whether intentional or otherwise, as we are witnessing here.

I agree, the amount of money involved is miniscule in the potential harm to the nation as a whole.

“It was not a sellout as some on this board are thinking.”

I don't care what Rush may have said. The constitution is nothing to be played with. These elected representatives are sworn in with the oath to “uphold the constitution”, not vote against it to make a political point. What next Freedom of speech, or the 2nd amendment?

It’s the precedent it sets that is so sickening.

Shame on every last one of them.

Who’d a thunk Republicans would have ever voted for a 90% tax under any circumstances—especially after the fact?! What’s next, retroactive capital gains increases from the good old days when there actually were gains?!

WELL maybe I should have said “conservatives” instead of Republicans, but then many Republicans aren’t conservative :(

Reagan is rolling in his grave :(

Yes, McClintock surprised me. My guy is McKeon and he's not on the list. I wonder if those on this list were trying to lodge a protest against the companies who would take a hand out. I'm baffled.

You're right and wrong: Ron Paul is a kook, but like Pat Buchanan, he's right twice a day. And yes, RINO's are selling us out. Same destination, but at half-speed. None of them are worthy of our loyalty. They all hail or originate from a country-clubbish clique, and all we do is complacently enable them.

Next year, I'm voting for a level-headed farmer with a blighted, fifty-acre apple orchard, three small kids, and a mortgage on a house with a leaky roof. I've had about enough of this shit from both parties.

You are coming around. Ron Paul is a kook. Just like you. But remember...One if by land two if by sea. It never changes.

Did anybody on our side of the aisle just get up and say they couldn't vote for the resolution because it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL?

Why is this complicated? What's next, voiding the Second Amendment because the Sheeple are ignorant?

How was it not a sellout when they swore to uphold, protect and defend the constitution?

Why don’t they teach the weasels among them a lesson who received campaign money from AIG? I’m tired of Republicans who vote for things like this which are patently unconstitutional. Eric Cantor has lost my vote now. He disgusts me. It is bad enough when you face an enemy with no moral compass and lax principles but when those who are supposed to be with you behave the same what is left?

I would have voted against it.

Only because it should have been 120 percent. AIG isn’t too big to fail, we just have Politicians with such tiny amounts of integrity that they can’t stop it.

Every one of these anti-Constitutional scum need to be voted out of office in 2010.
