What about careers disrupted such that you don’t earn enough to pay your mortgage while conscripted into involuntary servitude?

Vety few kids have mortgages.
Those that go will get hussein to pay for them.

With your money

The vast majority of Republicans belonging to McCain’s “Republican Main Street Partnership” voted yes on both this and H. R. 1586.

Good Gawd! These are the people who have been running the Republican Party into national defeat after defeat!

This cockamamie plan sounds like a terrific way for the Democrats to lose the youth vote. === You might have a point. Depends on the perks and indoctrination techniques.

I think it depends more on where they get the kids from. A bunch of kids from Harlem will be following the man who proved their social dream can come true, the kids from Iowa will be following the man who proved their freedom nightmare came true

"As teachers in any inner city high school with a dropout rate of 60% will tell you... this ain’t gonna be a cake walk. Forcing these kids who have been steeped in a “me, my, mine” self-esteem program since preschool, how do you put that genie back in the bottle and make them think of anyone else other than themself??"

You hit upon a very important point here. Almost every single one of my students is EXTREMELY self-centered and only cares about him/herself. These narcissistic kids will do whatever Obambi tells them to do because they do not know the meaning of "sacrifice" or "selflessness".

Isn’t that cool? You get to wear a uniform and everything, you don’t have to go to foreign shore to put your life on the line and the duties are still obscure. (or are they only known to a select few?)

IMHO

Looks a lot like a draft to me. It will be ironic if all those college kids who voted for “the One” end up in uniforms in some far away place. Maybe they will use their brains next time and not the tingle in their legs to pick a president.

We are seeing a revolution manufactured by a small group and clouded by the population being distracted by outrages being ginned up. WHile we are all distracted by this and O going on TV and Michelle planting her garden,,,the congress is passing anything and everything O sends up.

First the brownshirt bill, Health Care is next and will pass with 50Percent vote.

If this speeding train isn’t stopped, we will be gone in three months and not even know it.

Yes. It’s a draft. It should be called a draft. There’s no “giving” involved.

The college kids are going to freak. The democrat base, who does nothing but sit home and feed, will freak when they learn they also have to "give."

Oh yeah? And what if I work too slow? Or not good enough to your liking? What if I completely don’t give a sh*t? Is that what the FEMA camps are for?

And so begins the Obamabteilung. Red shirts would be appropriate; brown or black would be so pedestrian.

He's going to need to enlist a horde of compliant people, the downtrodden from the inner cities does make sense. It'll be a horror.

Possibly a college level “Young Pioneers Program.” The teachers will be marxists/communists theologians. Obumo looking out for his BLT followers and Mochelle.

According to a Business Wire statement released by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the bill “would formally authorize federal support for establishing the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on America as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.”

'Forced' Service as a way of remembrance? It will keep the protesters at bay for a day, they'll all be serving. IOW, required to perform community service the government can no longer provide.
