My Republican rep. voted for it.... But he also voted for SCHIP and has hitched himself to McCain’s wagon via the “Main Street Republicans” group.
Disgusted, yes. Surprised? No.
You definitely won’t be the only one!
Very disturbing. It feels like indoctrination. I don’t even recognize this country anymore.
Would time spent protesting in front of an abortion clinic count towards “volunteer service”.
They probably just read the title and thought that something called GIVE must be good.
So fitting, isn’t it?
DC takes your freedom and calls it giving.
1984, indeed!
That would be a “hate crime”.
Guaranteed - Christianity will be de facto illegal soon.
During the campaign, Michelle Obama made a telling remark at one of her campaign stops.
She said words like, “My husband is going to make you work.”
For weeks I wondered what she meant.
At one point I wondered if she just meant we would have to work our tails off to recover from punitive taxation and still put food on the table.
Now I realize that their plans are much more developed than that.
My son is a scout, and he knows about service. It’s given with a joyful heart, not mandated by Uncle Sam.
I’ve written my two senators. I urge everyone to do the same.
Phone calls and emails are good, but not enough, in my opinion.
Fortunately the majority of our government is made up of limp wristed, pussified, metrosexual asshats. If the military can be found to be on the side of the people the lot of them would be folded in a heartbeat.
Will someone please zap this information to Glenn Beck? He needs to get on this NAO!!!!!
Any idea on the number of EX military in America?
THOSE are the guys that I’m looking to.
For any "Christian" that supports socialism and democRats,
2 Cor 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
My rep voted for it too. I just sent him a piece of my mind including post#25, asking what is he thinking?????
what a disappointment. not a surprise..
Booooo! My congressman voted for this crap. And my senators are morons... No hope from WA state. sorry guys.
Authorizes the Corporation to treat September 11th annually as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.
I don’t see any possibility that this will not easily pass the Senate.
___________
I will call and write them. It won’t work, they don’t give a sh*t. So my answer to Rahm and zer0 is this:
COME MAKE ME, COME MAKE MY FAMILY!!! None of will be serving you, kiss my as*
Not yet, and I was wondering the same. On its surface - basically all ages. The text of the bill mentions "elementary", "middle", "secondary" schools, in addition to college. We have 4 girls to worry about: between the ages of our brand new one only 2 weeks old to age 18 who WAS ready to go to college.
Hitler youth Pocket pool????
I’m afraid people will have to learn the hard way, but please take into consideration the CONSERVATIVE children who will be harmed by this - like my four beautiful daughters. Your liberal nephews will probably be brainwashed enough to not see it as “servitude” - at least not initially. But, for the conservative children in our country this would be devastating to them psychologically and emotionally, and that is the WHOLE POINT of their actions.
I know you were probably being sarcastic, but on the off chance you were not, please consider calling your Senators about this — if not for your own family’s future generations, would you please consider doing it for mine?
