Morning Shows Deep-Six Dodd’s AIG Bonus Lie
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Imagine that a Republican senator was responsible for inserting a legislative loophole that permitted the AIG bonuses to be paid. Imagine too that the Republican senator was caught lying about having inserted it. Now imagine the morning news show coverage. Working title: “Choice for Lying Republican Senator: Resignation or Hari-Kari.”

But when the senator in question is a Dem? Two of the three broadcast net morning news shows never even mentioned his name. The third did, but it would have taken a forensic wordsmith to figure our he had changed his story. Chris Dodd (D-CT) is of course the Dem senator in question. For the full story of what he did and how he lied about it, I commend this Hot Air item to you. Note that, as Hot Air reports, with video, CNN actually used the L-word in describing Dodd’s dissembling.

And so it was that I eagerly tuned in Good Morning America, the Early Show and Today this morning to see what treatement they’d give the story. At least during the crucial first half-hour, the name “Dodd” never darkened either GMA’s or the Early Show’s door. Chris Dodd? Never hoid of the guy. On Today, Savannah Guthrie did narrate a segment on the subject. It began with the president at a so-called town hall in California yesterday claiming to take responsibility for the AIG bonus mess. Wild cheering from the supposedly unscreened crowd. Guthrie later added:

So another lying Democrat gets a pass from the lying Democrats in the news media. What’s new?

All the Republican Committees, National and State level, better be keeping these headlines, soundbites, and real life stories of tragedy on file for these coming elections.

There will be no excuses for not using what God has so graciously given to help root out the evil in the land.

There should be someone reviewing CSPAN on a daily basis, cataloging everything said.

If the media would do its job and really investigate where these billions of dollars are being funneled and the underlying corruption and cover up coming out of Washington, a journalistic hero could emerge and make history.

Question of the day.

Why did Chis Dodd go to law school at the University of Louisville when his father was the US Senator from Connecticut? Why could he not get into one of the Ivy's?

Years ago I used to wonder how it was that Tass and Provda managed to fool all the people. Now I know.

The only comfort I get out of that is that I know that soon "the state" will start killing off the "journalists".

As bad as the media have been with that fraud Dodd, IMO, they have been far WORSE in ignoring that lying, phony, incompetent bloviating hypocrite Barney Frank.

LOL! I never meant to include you, FoxNews or even Joe Scarborough who has been on Barney’s case, just the usual suspects, e.g., NY Times, WAPO, CNN, all the NBCs, CBS, ABC, LA Times, John Lieberman at The Daily Show on Comedy (but we’re serious as hell when we’re defending Democrats) Channel, etc. and et. al.

I’ve posted this before but.... it’s what I think.

The Bonus Story is of the day, but eludes the historical point.

Dodd and the Quee-ah from Massachusetts passed legislation forcing banks to make bad loans. It became apparent it was bad business. They as agents of the Democrat party, enlisted the aid of Eliot Spitzer to destroy Hank Greenburg to gain control of AIG. AIG was to be used as an insurance rug under which the mess could be swept away.

The bonuses in question are actually hush money or bribes paid to induce the AIG and other execs to clam up.

Alas, Hank Greenburg was not killed. He is alive and well and rich. He used his $$$ to hire investigators that discovered Eliot (now governor of New York) Spitzer in a whore house. Ol” hank, who knows all, is now suing AIG. That law suit will bring out all the details in court and will likely go on for ever and ever.

W precipitated the crisis preelection to bring out all the horribly terrible details he feared would be buried by a government under total Rat control. His strategery is working. The Rat mess is falling apart.

Here’s thie latest interview with wiley old Hank....

To understand history you must look deeper than the story de jour

.......If the media would do its job ......

You do not understand. The media, the MSM, is doing it’s job. The MSM is the propaganda arm of the criminal enterprise that is the Democrat party. To attribute any good or decent motives to the MSM is an error

After the events of the day, any one who believes the Rats are not all criminals is delusional.

Of course the three DNC propaganda networks would not report this. Fox and Friends covered this extensively this morning.

Why could he not get into one of the Ivy's?

Because he's dumb as a stump.
