Obama’s Gun Ban List Is Out
Soldier of Fortune ^ | 13 March, 2009 | Alan Korwin

Posted on 03/17/2009 6:42:32 AM PDT by marktwain

Here it is, folks, and it is bad news. The framework for legislation is always laid, and the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want to impose upon us. They really do not believe you need anything more than a brick to defend your home and family. Look at the list and see how many you own. Remember, it is registration, then confiscation. It has happened in the UK, in Australia, in Europe, in China, and what they have found is that for some reason the criminals do not turn in their weapons, but will know that you did.

Remember, the first step in establishing a dictatorship is to disarm the citizens.

Gun-ban list proposed. Slipping below the radar (or under the short-term memory cap), the Democrats have already leaked a gun-ban list, even under the Bush administration when they knew full well it had no chance of passage (HR 1022, 110th Congress). It serves as a framework for the new list the Brady’s plan to introduce shortly. I have an outline of the Brady’s current plans and targets of opportunity. It’s horrific. They’re going after the courts, regulatory agencies, firearms dealers and statutes in an all out effort to restrict we the people. They’ve made little mention of criminals. Now more than ever, attention to the entire Bill of Rights is critical. Gun bans will impact our freedoms under search and seizure, due process, confiscated property, states’ rights, free speech, right to assemble and more, in addition to the Second Amendment. The Democrats current gun-ban-list proposal (final list will be worse):

(iv) a forward grip; or a barrel shroud.

Any semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds (except tubular magazine .22 rim fire rifles). A semiautomatic pistol that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine, and has:

(i) a second pistol grip,

(ii) a threaded barrel,

(iv) can accept a detachable magazine outside of the pistol grip, and

(v) a semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.

A semiautomatic shotgun with:

(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine or a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds, and

(iv) a shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

Frames or receivers for the above are included, along with conversion kits.

Attorney General gets carte blanche to ban guns at will: Under the proposal, the U.S. Attorney General can add any “semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General.”

Note that Obama’s pick for this office, Eric Holder, wrote a brief in the Heller case supporting the position that you have no right to have a working firearm in your own home. In making this determination, the bill says, “there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.” In plain English this means that ANY firearm ever obtained by federal officers or the military is not suitable for the public.

The last part is particularly clever, stating that a firearm doesn’t have a sporting purpose just because it can be used for sporting purpose — is that devious or what? And of course, “sporting purpose” is a rights infringement with no constitutional or historical support whatsoever, invented by domestic enemies of the right to keep and bear arms to further their cause of disarming the innocent.

I thought they made just the one carbine. I wonder how they can specifically target the Hi-Point Carbine and leave off the Beretta CX4?

We have a Second Amendment. Some of us will not submit to those who continue to work to destroy it. As (I think) Babe Ruth said, ‘it ain’t bragging if you can do it’. We cannot win this one on our own but we will do our part to resist the tyrants.

With the food shortage that’s coming, it would behoove us all to build concrete root cellars in proximity to our house....with mowable grass above or plants and flowers. It will help the homeless.

These folks have the notion that if they pass a law about guns, then criminals will comply.

A family in my neighborhood was decimated by a criminal. The fellow was the boyfriend of a girl who had left him to go home to Mom. He was in prison. He got out, and went to the Mom's home and she protested, told him to get out. He pulled out a gun, shot her twice in the head (killing her) shot her sister, shot his girlfriend (wounding both) and then killed himself. When police found him he was wearing a bullet proof vest, obviously expecting and planning trouble. Now, how does a kid, just out of jail get a gun? Simple, illegal weapons are available to them, and no laws are going to stop the criminals from getting guns. The problem here was, that he was left out of jail on parole in the first place - a fault of the law that set him free, not the gun!!!

Years before I was held up at gun point, thrown down on the floor, and had my feet, arms and mouth taped, along with 2 others in my office. The robbers ransacked the place, even though we were NEXT DOOR to the sheriff's office and there were two police cars in the parking lot! The bold crooks were never found! Again, it is the criminals who get away and use guns for such purposes, not decent citizens who have guns for hunting/sport or protection.

As it is said, cars kill more people than guns, yet there is no movement to take cars away from the public, even from drivers who misuse them and drive drunk or under the influence of drugs; without licenses or with DUI's in their history. I don't own a gun, probably never will...but it is a right Americans have and I support that right, even after my experiences.

when gun legislation like this passes only republicans and criminals will have guns, hence a house to house search, and then the FEMA camps will have a use.

They've been after the Hi-Point carbine ever since one was used at Columbine.

Never mind that it was actually designed (IIRC) to comply with the earlier ban.

Shotguns! Shotguns! That is patently unConstitutional. What is the justification? Or are many of these being used as some sort of bargaining chip?

Some were banned by the original Assault Weapons Ban. Not as many, and the "by features" method required more Eviiiieeeel features, but banned nonetheless.

either we have a Second Amendment or we don’t! You cannot be kinda of pregnant.

Apparently the Obmaites think we are very pregnant.

What do you mean by single shot bolt action? Most modern bolt actions carry anywhere from 3 to 5 rounds in an internal box magazine.

Does any fool actually think an American citizen will turn in his/her weapons?

There are hundreds of Fools on The Hill, and not a few in the White House and other Executive branch buildings as well.

It only takes one shot to bring down a deer dontcha know so all you need is a single shot bolt action, right?

The same could be said of tyrants and their boot licking lackeys.

Not to mention tournament shotguns. Every Beretta we own has a “threaded” barrel for the extended chokes. The “threaded” barrel inclusion would include all skeet/sporting clays semi-autos. Kiss your Remington 1100’s bye-bye.

They also all have "pistol grips", as defined by the bill. As do all semi-auto long guns. Even without threaded muzzles, they are all toast if this bill passes. Well.. something...or someone.. would be toast anyway.
