Great Lover of America
Loved America more than politics.
Changed his views when he realized he was wrong. God Bless His Family!

Thank you and Rest in Peace Ron.
You sacrificed a great deal for your beliefs.

R.I.P. Ron. Just recently heard he was battling cancer. Loved him when he was a lib (in my college days), and later when we both saw the light.

RIP, Mr. Silver. You showed great patriotism and courage when you knew it would alienate many of your friends and workers. God bless you and your family.

I agree with the sentiments posted here except that I’m surprised no one has mentioned his single best movie, Enemies: A Love Story. An absolute masterpiece.

His career took a real hit when he became conservative, but he didn't care.
I talked to him for hours a few years ago at an Oscar party and his brain was like a turbine. I'm trying to remember if he said he started out somewhere in government like the State Department before changing to acting. Anyway, he will be hugely missed.

Actor and longtime political activist Ron Silver died this morning... I was very sorry to hear of this last evening. Silver was a man of conviction, and seemed to change his mind and speak up when he realized 'the right' was right on certain matters.
He spoke out in favor of the war in Iraq, and thus the mention that he was a political activist.
Perhaps it's just my take on this, but the 'political activist' mention was somewhat of a slap here. The Hollyweird set has many people who make political comments all the time. I don't see them labeled political activists.
If anything these people are listed as the ultimate geniuses of our time, humanitarians to the last. Here Silver is escorted out as a 'political activist'.
Ron's only infraction is that he didn't advocate for communism in the United States. If he had, he could have been one of the greats. (as the Hollyweird set sees it)
I appreciate Ron's support for the war. I am very sorry to hear that he is gone.
