oddly enough, I recently began compiling a bi-weekly e-news letter to family and friends about just this kind of thing. It got to be that I was forwarding so many articles that I thought it best to simply summarize them in a sentence or two, then provide a link.
Much more personal and they tend to actually read the stuff now. lol
