HR 1388, will hit the House floor on Tuesday. It is called the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (The Give Act.) The House is scheduled to Rule this week. Sponsored by Democrat Representative Carolyn McCarthy (NY), Education and Labor Committee. The objective is to reauthorize and reform the national service laws.
Democrat Rep. McCarthy is sponsoring the bill with 25 co-sponsors, ALL Democrats, including Charlie Rangel. Need I say more.
He learned more, right there, than your words could ever express...
Try this It should take you right to the bill. However the bill has a lot of one line changes to existing law. To really understand what it's doing, you have to have the current law available to check it against. They don't make it easy for you.
Oh great! IrishPennant already had me crying on this thread!
Wow! There is a chapter in this book called “The Patriotic Barber”. You tell me this doesnt sound like ALOT of people today. This is how it begins “Although they knew that England had no right to do what she had done, still they dreaded a quarrel and since they were pretty comfortable, didnt care much whether England treated them as equals or as slaves.”
History truly does repeat itself!
I understand what you are saying.
And when I said “you” in my earlier post it was the generic “you” not you/driftdiver.
I didn’t make that clear.
Also, we are talking about the most extreme of situations. I hope and pray that we can dig ourselves out of this with just the ballot box.
But I don’t think we should send the message to the power mongers that we aren’t up to fighting, real fighting—that would be a big mistake.
I don’t want anybody to die. But death comes to everyone, no matter what. Freedom comes to a relative few—that’s you and me. It’s worth risking it all to keep it around for our loved ones.
I have two beautiful children and a wife. I don’t want to leave them.
But this husband and father of two won’t live under the thumb of another man—not a chance.
Americanism is in my bones—I can’t live any other way but wide-open spaces, free to do my own thing, free from a-holes that would hold me down.
I want the same things for my children. I get crazy inside when I think about them living any way but as free Americans.
If they crack down, and the call goes out, you know where I’ll be.
You are right B’s Gramma...I got an unsolicited hug and kiss from my boy about an hour after the show was over. Asked why...said just cuz. I don’t have many years left of that, so it made my night.
I think that is part of their strategy. Overwhelm the enemy (us) with so many things, they can’t form an effective defense. Everyone needs to pick an issue or two to focus on, find a group that is already fighting for or against that issue and join with them.
***I think it’s the “Alinsky Way.” Keep us confused and running in all directions. Who are our leaders? The Republicans won’t touch it except in a non direct way for fear of being called racists.
These will be indoctrination/brainwashing camps. Make no mistake. This is HITLER all over again. We need to be combing these bills for a “term limit” change. With my tin foil hat on securely, I don’t believe we will ever have “free and fair” elections in this country again. Ever.
Sorry I should have clarified, the passage was talking about the Tories.
I forgot the sarcasm tags :/
You may not have many more years of kisses but with the relationship you are building now, you will have years and years of a best friend. You sound like a wonderful dad and a great American.
Az, someone who I respect very much from your posting...When Alinsky’s Way was drafted, was our technology available? We have a broader, faster way of spreading information and coming together then any civilization before us. Granted, it is being used against us for now, but because of this, including FR, blogs, Drudge, etc., we are not sitting blind and stupid in the corner.
;-) I haven’t seen A Few Good Men, but will check to see if Netflix has it available online.
He was good in Apollo 13, too. I really respect him for doing “Taking Chance.” There was not a hint of irony in his performance, as much as the left wanted to see that,
gitmo...I’m so sorry I completely overlooked your post to me! I agree 100%.
txhurl...you have a very profound tag line now.
Taking him out on the boat after Church tomorrow for a day of bass fishing, although he does not seem too enthusiastic....hmmm, wonder if it's too early to share the moonshine with him to gain some enthusiasm? Prolly, huh?
Oh, you don't have to wonder if he got it. He did.
And I can tell you that even teenagers give hugs and kisses to their parents. :-)
‘free and fair elections in this country again.’
Look at what Acorn did in the last election.
Then we gave them billions.
If that won’t dazzle and confuse you, nothin’ will.
Total, utter, insanity—or, they’re trying to usher in socialism/communism, or a global government.
Usually, I would make mention of tin foil hats about now. But I gotta tell y’all—nothin’ would surprise me right now—nothin’.
Very inspiring. I have to get that book!
You should see A Few Good Men...Tom Cruise, Demie Moore (Before both were crazy, crazy celeb Gods) and Jack Nicholson...some great lines from Jack that you might like...ones that hit libtards hard but make conservatives sleep well at night. Unfortunately, the movie plays against them, but it is real world, or was.
You tell ‘em FRiend!!I feel the same way and then some!
