Obama Sinks the Markets Wednesday, March 11, 2009 By L. Brent Bozell III
On March 3, President Obama said something remarkably stupid, wrong and politically tone-deaf. Our Obama-loving media either ignored it or actually quoted it without comment. He claimed The stock market is sort of like a tracking poll in politics. It bobs up and down day to day and if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong.
The Dow has now fallen more than 50 percent from its peak. Last month, it saw its biggest one-month drop since 1933. Grandpas retirement savings just half-vanished over the last few months, and the president is telling him its just a meaningless blip.
This is not a poll this is all about the American peoples economic future, or their present. The stock market is in its greatest free-fall since the Great Depression, and the President shrugs his shoulders.
How is it that no one on ABC, CBS, or NBC found it bizarre to compare the Dow Jones index to a mere tracking poll? The answer is that they do, of course if it were uttered by a Republican. Stop and just think about how theyd have reacted if those words were spoken by Dubya.
The media loved to mock George W. Bush for sounding too optimistic about the economy. They scoured John McCain for claiming the fundamentals were strong. They forced Phil Gramm off McCains campaign for saying we were a nation of whiners about the economy. But now, President Obama can tell America dont worry your pretty head about the Dow Jones average and no one in the media blinks.

Tally of ‘Millionaire’ U.S. Households Falls 27% in ‘08
Holy crap! Who is Obama gonna get to pay all those taxes?
Can’t have ‘wealth redistribution’ and ‘wealth destruction’ at the same time, can you?
yes, the money I socked away in mutual funds for my retirement is just that...for retirement 15 years down the road (unfortunately). But to suggest it is meaningless?
What an arrogant thing to say.
Oh for crying out loud!
Doesn't ANYONE have a running log to date for Obama and his speak?
Don't make it appear like this is the first.
Obummer must be farting in the wind again today.
Obamazilla strikes again.
The Dow has now fallen more than 50 percent from its peak. Last month, it saw its biggest one-month drop since 1933. Grandpas retirement savings just half-vanished over the last few months, and the president is telling him its just a meaningless blip.
Yep! Yep! B0Z0 is a financial genius. No doubt about it!
You jest, but,
when 0bama isn’t able to deliver on his promises,
or on the promises that his supporters painted on his “blank slate”,
he will have to find someone to blame,
another historical figure did the same.
Wealth redistribution IS wealth destruction. Those that it is confiscated from would have used it to build more overall national wealth. Those to whom it is given are more likely to spend it on consumables or at least on things that go down in value.
“...Obummer must be farting in the wind again today....”
The smell of oily fried waste rotting in the bowels of the messiah....mmmm, mmmm finger STICKIN’ good!
Change you can believe in. What a motto. It should be uttered every time the economic crisis is mentioned.
EEEWWWW!!! I just ate lunch! thanks a lot! (*turning green*)
“...I just ate lunch! thanks a lot! (*turning green*)...”
You better turn RED for the messiah...
I’m Sicilian, it’s easier for me turn green than red, Obama is SOL!!! LOL!!!!
This is the end result of putting a man in charge who has never held a job that produced wealth of any sort. “Community organizing” does not produce anything, except rabble-rousers. Heck, had he been a stocker in a grocery store all this time, he’d have a much better understanding of the economy and how it works. As it is, his sole understanding is that government money was always funneled to him, so he thinks it must go everywhere that way.
actually, the markets didn’t sink today. They shot up a bit.

The markets have gone up for two days in a row. How much longer before 0bama says something to start the free fall again?
