Poor Baby Obama: I Have To Make The ‘Really Hard’ Decisions
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/08/2009 6:30:37 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Two big stories emerged from Pres. Obama’s interview with New York Times reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday:

1. we have a whining, self-pitying president. 2. The Times scrubbed from its article the worst of the president’s comments, the ones that revealed him in that self-pitying light.

Fortunately, the Today show had the tapes, and played them this morning. According to Today, when President Obama met with reporters from the New York Times yesterday aboard Air Force One, his goal was “trying to sound hopeful and reassuring.” Mission not accomplished. As ambivalent as were the president’s putatively reassuring words on the economy, the delivery was even worse–halting and anything but assured. Be sure to view the video.

But much worse was his whining when it came to the burdens of his office:

PRES. OBAMA: I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.

A bit later came this stunning statement, edited out of the Times story but broadcast by Today

“When you are president, your every word can change - or even take - lives. MUCH bigger, different job.”

I never said otherwise. And the big Zero is clearly unqualified for the job. But. NOT because he cannot work a 40 hr week. I submit that the ability to work a 40 hr week does NOT qualify one to be President. I’m just saying that it is also not why he is unqualified.

He’s unqualified because it is, to quote him, “Above his paygrade.” Far above his paygrade.

There are plenty of cogent arguments to make against the Dear Marxist One without dipping into hyperbole.

More to the point, the POINT of his self-sanctimonious pity was how difficult this period of self-examination and personal growth that is his Presidency can be. Look at me - see how I’m growing. Blah.

OMG,

You mean he has to make “hard decisions?”

OMG, poor Obama, how terrible, who would have known, this is unprecedented!

What should we expect from a man who said that the abortion issue is “above his pay grade.” He's an empty suit that rode to power by playing opposition political games, riding on every popularist theme. He's NEVER been in an executive position, military or other national security institution, in business, nor does he have any real foreign relations/affairs experience. He's a novice, a joker, a guy with a pretty smile, tall, slim, that looks cool even when he says nothing, and now he has to make real decisions. One can only hope that those around him can carry this buffoon.

Has he even ever had a real job before??

“Bush did it 24/7 for eight years without a whimper.”

I’m sure he did his share of “Oh no, NOW what”, but he NEVER let anyone see it or hear it.

Because he was a grown-up.

IT’S EASY NOT TO MAKE A DECISION WHEN YOU STAY IN FULL DISINFORMATION MODE,GIVING GLOOM AND DOOM SPEACHES EVERY DAY SINCE THE CORONATION. HE HASN’T BEEN PUT IN A SITUATION YET WHERE HE ACTUALLY HAS TO MAKE A DECISION THAT CAN BE TRACED BACK TO HIM.HE HAS BUSH FOR ANOTHER YEAR,AND PELOSI AND REID TO BLAME FOR ANYTHING ELSE.ALL HE IS DOING IS SIGNING THE BILLS INTO LAW!SURELY YOU CAN’T BLAME HIM FOR THE CONTENT-HE MOST LIKELY IS TOO BUSY ADJUSTING HIS TELEPROMPTER TO READ THE DAMN BILL ANYWAY.

Very possible, with one so psychologically, ideologically, metaphysically, spiritually, patriotically, racially, economically and inherently out of touch with normal America and Americans.

Are you sensing the barometer of opinions from the military and contractor corps?

Notice how The Messiah used improper english: “if it was easy...”, while the NYT corrected the transcript to say, properly “if it were easy...”

He also talked about Thelma and Louise driving off of a "clift" the other day. He said it twice in the same stupid speech.

Jimmy Carter: The Liberal Left and World Chaos: A Carter/Obama Plan That Will Not Work
by Mike Evans (Author)
http://www.amazon.com/Jimmy-Carter-Liberal-World-Chaos/dp/0935199330

One book reviewer comments:
Calamity Jimmy, January 31, 2009
By Pieter “Toypom” (Johannesburg)

It was Jimmy Carter who opened the gates of hell with his disastrous Middle East policy in the 1970s, the consequences of which are gaining momentum by the day. Evans charts Carter’s rise to the presidency, his failed foreign & domestic policies, his complicity in the Iranian revolution, the Camp David peace accords and his continued meddling in US foreign affairs. The book examines Carter’s character and how the former advocate of human rights became a friend of and apologist for dictators around the globe. Furthermore, it warns that Carter’s latest book proposes more of the same poison with policies that promote global chaos.

One must be on guard against shows of excessive piety... The seemingly pious Carter has tried his utmost to undermine the presidencies of Reagan, Clinton & both Bushes. His smiling exterior is deceptive; there’s much evidence of insincerity, malice & meanness in his personality. ...

An example of his bad judgment was his perception of the monstrous Ayatollah Khomeini — http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0553140329/ref=cm_cr_asin_lnk — as a saintly Gandhi-type figure.

Carter calls good evil & vice versa, he puts bitter for sweet and wrong for right. Perpetrators become victims and terrorists with openly stated genocidal aims are human rights movements to him. He has embraced Hamas & Hezbollah while his latest plan for the Middle East is the same old same old, yet another attempt to force Auschwitz borders on Israel & give half of the Holy City to terrorists. For years he has worked tirelessly for a USA betrayal of Israel and now he’s pulling out all the stops to influence the Obama administration in this regard. ...

..His Carter Centre is funded by petrodollars from the Middle East; when the extent of the distortions & propaganda in his notorious book became general knowledge, an exodus of senior staff took place. Mike Evans has brilliantly exposed Carter for what he is.

None of those opinions have changed since the election season. :)

We voted overwhelmingly for McCain-Palin, a lot of us contractors wore all black to work on November 5 and January 20 was something we all tried to ignore, in sort of a denial state.

I guess now the feeling is, "Yep...we knew it."

He’s trying to do too many things too fast he’s acting like he is running for 2012 already. He’s doing things to prop up his approval that he thinks the majority of Americans like but the economy drags him down everyday.

I told you so.

Didn't I post more than once that Barry just wanted to be a President but didn't have a clue of what a President does? He was in Indonesia when Sukarno died. I'm sure much was made of it. He's a kid who thinks "I'd like a job like that, do nothing, people do your bidding, you're in control." So he makes the declaration "When I grow up I want to be a President."

He NEVER had an idea of what a President actually does and that it turns hair gray because it's such a high stress job. He wanted the adoration without the hard work. NOW he wants to complain?

Conservatives (in Congress) need to use this weakness to their advantage. It's an opportunity they won't often have handed to them.

I concur with Your statements plus add my own 2 cents by saying:

I wish we had the luxury of never having him set foot nor having hislame political brainlessness in office!

Oh how this Country still needs Pres. Bush,residing...

A real Man;courageous Man;a right priorities Man;a Professing CHRISTian Man in Word/word/practice/deeds and actions!!!!!

The good attributes that describe President Bush are 8 years long and counting/cont...even out of office...

As for oafbamalamadingdong,

I have yet to find one presidential worthy attribute. And as for in general attributes he’s not even close to any real Man... and he is totally opposite re: the attributes of Pres.B. in office and in life.

I guess I had more than 2 cents worth to add.

Thanks much for the ping, and perfect & cool gif to go with Your words!!!!!

Good post.

The entire stimulus package was written by Pelosi so he could, in one sweeping action, satisfy most of his constituency. He satisfies many of his voters, gets Congress on his side, and then...well, that should cover everything, right? He can just kick back until he gets to go back on the campaign trail and, you know, have people cheering for him and all those neat sets and everyone saying nice things about him all the time...right?

He seems to think he can just push through everything he wants done and just close his eyes and endure the minority party’s complaints for a little while, and then he’ll have made everyone happy by tossing trillions at them, and then, well, the economy just kind of turns around. Or something.

You have to love the irony in it. If anyone in the family did all the working and making a decent wage to support their family it was Michelle. Now she can stay at home pose for magazine covers and he has to work long hard days.

Grammatical mistakes such as these are the sign of someone who has not read anything published more than 50 years ago.
