Poor Baby Obama: I Have To Make The ‘Really Hard’ Decisions
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/08/2009 6:30:37 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Two big stories emerged from Pres. Obama’s interview with New York Times reporters aboard Air Force One yesterday:

1. we have a whining, self-pitying president. 2. The Times scrubbed from its article the worst of the president’s comments, the ones that revealed him in that self-pitying light.

Fortunately, the Today show had the tapes, and played them this morning. According to Today, when President Obama met with reporters from the New York Times yesterday aboard Air Force One, his goal was “trying to sound hopeful and reassuring.” Mission not accomplished. As ambivalent as were the president’s putatively reassuring words on the economy, the delivery was even worse–halting and anything but assured. Be sure to view the video.

But much worse was his whining when it came to the burdens of his office:

PRES. OBAMA: I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.

A bit later came this stunning statement, edited out of the Times story but broadcast by Today

shudder to think how he will respond to a real crisis like an terrorist attack on the US ...

Here’s a wild guess. Being one that would never let a good crisis go to waste, he’d use emergency powers in such a situation to: 1) implement socialized government-run health care insurance, putting all private health insurers out of business, and 2) implement cap & trade, for the sake of “saving the environment”, establishing a huge tax on all energy use.

Because we all know how effective these 2 top wishes of the Dems would be, in counteracting a terror attack.

Good God! The man is an idiot. Totally incompetent.

Never before in history has an American President whined in public that things that reach his desk are “too hard”, or that he is “too tired” and “too stressed” to properly meet with a foreign dignitary.

Four more years of this?

I hope impeachment comes sooner.

you asked:

"Did I miss anything?"

You left out the nagging wife wanting him to make her "more proud".

"President Obama: Just one thing I was thinking about as I was getting on the copter. It was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question. I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement – the prescription drug plan without a source of funding. And so I think it’s important just to note when you start hearing folks through these words around that we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles and that some of the same folks who are throwing the word socialist around can’t say the same."

Sheesh! That's not clarifying a point, that's whining like a child!!! What has this country done electing this guy?!!?

The Dems in the House have to be worried about 2010. And the Drive-Bys must be a tad concerned over their financial pictures. I think the birth certificate issue is going to be hitting the news more and more...just wait.

“Bush did it 24/7 for eight years without a whimper.”

Not only did Bush not whimper, he got pilloried by the press for every single one of them.

When you are campaigning, you can say and promise just about anything and it doesn't matter. Witness the difference between his campaign rhetoric and what he is now actually doing.

When you are president, your every word can change - or even take - lives. MUCH bigger, different job.
