"Gyrating" to new lows.....Ugh.
Homemade Potato Soup Recipe
(Excerpt) Read more at finance.yahoo.com ...
I don’t think FReepers throw stones! At least that is not what I will be throwing.
In the middle to late 1950s, we ate so much potato soup that I still cannot stand to look at a bowl of the stuff to this day. Potatoes, fried, french, mashed, boiled, baked are all good, but as a soup, no way will I touch it!
It’s getting volatile as hell in the market this afternoon.
On October one of my coworkers predicted the DOW would bottom out at 6500 and I called him crazy. Now I think he was too optimistic. This is insane.

wonder how long before the feds start handing out IOU’s, too.
Did he really say that? What a racist thug.
THe supposed new “floor” (bottom) is 3,000 to 3,500 - assuming that occurs you will see (hopefully) massive revolt - a march on Washington, etc
In sum most Americans in their late 40’s and older - who were counting on IRAs or 401K investment accounts as a major basis of retirement income will see the values decreased by -75% - thus probably never able to really retire EVER!

Looks like bye bye is indeed more like it...
Good lord...3000.
Actually, I was borrowing that “peasants with pitchforks” term from Pat Buchannon when he referred to the taxpaying middle class (and up) who were angry enough for a Contract with America.
So yes, how long before the angry taxpayers, those with ANY type of retirement plan, and investors are ready to hold someone accountable and want a “good” change, not the change that Obama brings?!!
lol...those were the days huh...??...i know what you mean, my dad and i swore we would never eat it again...
Right after they fail to float a batch of treasuries. Not long now actually.
Now it has disappeared. Lots of us boomers who wee supposed to be withdrawing in the next 45 years going to be poorer but we'll be paying less taxes in the next decade, won't we?
When soetero’s boys from harvard did the out years budget, bet they didn't factor in lost taxes on 3 -4 TRILLION of vanished wealth
unlike “let-em-eat wagyu” soetero, I feel ill for people retiring now, people who are retired now like my Mom's 85 yr old friends who have lost half to 2/3 of their retirement savings that was paying them dividends and interest and withdrawals to live on, and for people sending their kids to college next year whose savings funds have disappeared
CAMPFIRE RICE
You will need: rice, pure water, watertight wash bowl, waterproof/fireproof metal or ceramic cooking pot with cover, long-handled spoon or ladle, cup, chopsticks/utensils. Salt or soy sauce optional
0. Build a campfire; allow fire to burn down to coals. Have sufficient wood and water at hand to build/extinguish fire. Stoke coals to medium heat
1. Wash rice in cold water until clean; drain; refill bowl with clean water to top of rice; set aside in washbowl to soak for 10-30 minutes
2. Boil water in covered fireproof pot while rice is soaking
3. Drain rice, then add to boiling water in cooking pot at a ratio of 1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water. (If rice is old or stale, increase ratio to 1:2). Cover pot; adjust cover in such a way that steam can escape. Keep heat at medium
4. Wait 5-6 minutes. Uncover cooking pot and stir rice with long-handled spoon or ladle. Cover again and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
5. Uncover and inspect rice. If water remains in pot, recover and continue cooking, checking contents at 2-3 minute intervals until excess water is gone. If water is gone and rice is not soft, add water, recover, and continue cooking, checking contents at 2-3 minute intervals unttil excess water is gone. If water is absorbed completely by rice and grains are soft, rice is done.
6. When rice is fully cooked, remove pot from fire. Keep rice covered until served

Let me know when it gets down to a buck...
