To some degree it is psychological. Yet most of it is very real; it’s Newton’s First Law of Motion. An object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Investors are not seeing favorable conditions for that “unbalanced force”. What they are seeing is Socialism, class warfare hyperbole and a lot of talk about wealth-redistribution in the future. The Market is never about today, it is all about the future.
