The link you have in post #54 doesn't list Bushmaster.

I can't think of any reason why an 18 year-old couldn't own a rifle, unless it comes under some kind of AW restriction.

Pisses me off bad that what is perfectly legal and common every day use in state A can get ya prison time in state B in these so called United States of America!

My first thought as well

And now the kid will not be able to own firearms in ANY state if he's convicted, which, given that MA is a virtual Nanny/Police-State where the State Police uniforms and covers remind one of Nazi Germany, is almost a certainty.

F**K Barney Frank, and Ted Kennedy, and John Kerry, and the rest of their anti-freedom, anti-AMERICAN ilk.

One shotgun an AR-15 is now an “arsenal”?

Sickens me that it is legal for them to endanger our lives yet we go to jail if we do what they do ........ they can rot in hell as far as I am concerned. Polidiot trash I wouldn’t piss on if they were on fire.

Doom on em !

A clear violation of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments, too. There is no law against “appearing evasive”. You don’t owe the police an explanation for ANYTHING. If a policeman asks where you are going in such a hurry, you have every right to say, “None of your business”. Just as you have every right to travel THROUGH a state carrying a firearm even though that firearm may be illegal in that state without interference from the police.

I really despise liberals.

Or, Welcome to Tennessee! Got any guns? No? Well, there’s a gun store right over there. Go in and pick out something nice.

Tennessee...Isn’t that “the patron state of shootin’ stuff”? ;-)

Of course if this kid had enlisted he'd be driving an M-1 Abrams or sniping Taliban.

But here in 2nd Amendment USA, nope.

Bushmaster Auto Rifle is, but that may not be the AR clone, you are correct.

The kid’s just being hassled.

This is a possible test case for the Second Amendment.

I dammed glad I live in NC

and if just one third of the gun owners in the US organized a boycott of these states like Massachusetts....

Not on the one linked in #54. It goes from Beretta to Cslico, no Bushmaster listed.

It looks like he might have a Federal civil rights case.

If you know how to contact the NRA and SAF about this, please do so.

I fully support the Second Amendment...but I just have to ask— what sort of wedding was he going to that he thought he needed this for? I have been to many a redneck wedding and even a couple of “shotgun” weddings but never one that a guest would feel the need for all this.

Well, it'll rest on whether they found the stuff in his cab or in the truck bed. If he had the guns and ammo in the cab, he was not following the Federal law that protects him. I don't know enough about the law to know how that works out.

I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked that no one has stated the obvious, no arsenal is complete without a belt fed weapon....

For all what, a rifle and a shotgun? Heck I normally have at least that in the trunk of my car, in case I have time to run by the range while I'm out and about. He was going to Maine, maybe he wanted to do some shooting with his buddies while he was there.

Sounds eminently reasonable to me. And travelling alone...I always carry multiple level of protection.
