Both are behaviorally conservative, but both also drank the koolaid and voted for ObamaMy Grandparents voted for Clinton '92 because of his campaign stance on NAFTA (he was against it, likely turned out to be right....). Clinton lied (imagine that!) and reneged on his promise to veto the bill.
Grandpa passed away a few years back, but Grandma is still mad about it. Dems will never get another vote from her. Ever. She still refers to Hillary as "That Traitorous Bitch"; I think that I can count on one hand the number of times I've heard her curse.
Have faith, Dems always manage to screw up whatever they touch.

How’s that retirement plan working out for all you baby boomers?
That annuity looking real strong? How about that whole life policy? All in cash, wait for that printing press inflation to kick in.

Is Denninger usually reasonable and rational? I’ve heard mixed reviews about him- so I’m trying to keep perspective on his prognosis.

I personally believe Denninger has an IQ over 150. He's got guys posting on his board who are experienced Wall St traders. There's not one of them doesn't express complete and utter awe with his insight and sheer genius.
Every now and then Denninger lets slip some of the IP addresses which access his web site - including the White House and some 3-letter agencies.

Have faith, Dems always manage to screw up whatever they touch. Great story about your Grandma. That said, Obama is doing us a favor - he encourages liberals to "buy stocks" in sucker rallies - in essence separating them from their money. Less for them to give to political campaigns.. :)

It is like skydiving, without a chute: The first thousand feet you hardly notice the ground coming up.
It is more obvious in the last 500 feet. We are in the last 100 feet, I think.

That’s been my thinking.
The logical extension though is, what if that’s also true for....Honeywell, Caterpillar, Dow Chemical, etc; At some I can’t help but wonder if we are actually witnessing a communist takeover of the means of production. And I know it sounds tinfoil a la USSR. I’ll happily hear refutation of that thesis, just show me what’s being done counter to the thesis, don’t just say “it can’t be happening here”.

Denninger’s point of view is worth reading these days, as long as one remembers to tune their ear to his often hyperbolic mood.
