The Party of Birth Certificate Conspiracies
The Washington Independent ^ | 3/4/2009 | David Weigel Troll

Posted on 03/04/2009 3:43:03 PM PST by AJ in NYC

Back in January, I reported that Oklahoma State Rep. Mike Ritze (R), whose party had just won control of the legislature, was pushing legislation that would demand proof of President Obama’s citizenship before he’s placed on the ballot in 2012. Today we learn that fifteen members of the Missouri legislature, all Republicans, have signed on to a constitutional amendment that says this:

For candidates who are required by the Constitution of the United States to be natural born citizens, the secretary of state shall request an official copy of the candidate’s birth certificate. Other certifications, such as a certificate of live birth, shall not be accepted. Should any candidate fail to provide an official birth certificate within thirty days of the request by the secretary of state, his or her name shall not be placed on the ballot.

For people who’ve followed the Obama conspiracies, that’s pretty specific and telling language. Last summer, Obama made available the Hawai’ian certificate of live birth that states he was born in Honolulu in 1961. But because it’s a new document, not a vintage certificate, it’s sprouted conspiracy theories about whether or not it was forged (it wasn’t) and whether it actually proves that Obama was born abroad (it really doesn’t).

Republicans hold a majority in the Missouri state assembly, but it’s not likely that this will pass.

You never know. All it needs is a majority vote in the legislature to get sent to the voters as a referendum and then a majority vote in the referendum to be added to the Missouri Constitution. It could happen.

“But because it’s a new document, not a vintage certificate, it’s sprouted conspiracy theories about whether or not it was forged (it wasn’t) and whether it actually proves that Obama was born abroad (it really doesn’t).”

Of course, this fails to mention that there were two different versions of Obama’s CLB that were released as being authentic. One was on the Daily KOS, and one was later put up on Obama’s website. They were not the same document, but were fairly similar. It is not possible that they were both real.

Meanwhile, Zero is singlehandedly destroying the economy of our nation, ignoring a war flowing across our southern border, stirring up the world with his psychotic behavior, importing radical terrorists from the mideast while setting known terrorists free, and imposing marxism almost by decree.

All I know is I was born a lot longer ago and I can produce the original, the press announcement, the Doctors name, the address where I was living and brought home to and no one in my family would say I was born in Kenya and they were there at the time...

Is it blurry because they are using a video camera to record a computer? Must be.

The detail is absolutely horrible.

I love the way that is worded: The phony document was supposed to prove he was born abroad (not a chick but overseas?)

The leftist's who are leaving comments on that site do not, cannot, or refuse to answer the simple question: "What is wrong with providing proof that is required by the Constitution?"

All they do is respond with "Get a life", or something in a sarcastic vein.

Huh?

Some members of the Missouri legislature are submitting a proposed amendment to the state constitution requiring that all presidential candidates submit proof of qualifications. It may have a chance since the process of amending the constitution requires simple majorities in the legislature and the referendum. No super majorities or anything like that.

I do so hope it will pass!Every state should demand that any candidate for any office produce a valid birth certificate in order to appear on the ballot.

I have never been opposed to, and have often said that we need, legislation to require presidential candidates prove their qualifications. I have also said, on frequent occasions, that it won’t get done in the Democrat Congress so it’ll have to be done in the states. I have also pointed out, also on many occasions, that since there is no such laws on the books then there is nothing that can force Obama to produce anything. So no, I’m not changing and jumping on your conspiracy bandwagon. I still say that if you don’t think Obama was born here then trot out your evidence because he isn’t going to indulge you.

In NJ a third party candidate actually listed his birth place on his website to be Guatemala. Yet his name appeared on the ballot for POTUS. Sec of State of NJ a political appointee did not comment after the 2008 election what she would do if the guy won. Insane. A version of the proposed law is needed for all 50 states.
