Mitt Romney won the 2009 CPAC straw poll.
He beat McCain last year in a close vote...something like 34% to 33%. I may be off a point or 2 in my recollection but Romney definitely had a higher percentage.
The economy hasn’t hurt Romney’s bank account too bad. Romney still won the CPAC straw poll.
“But both of his parents would have to be US Citizens at the time of his birth in the US for Jindal to qualify as a Natural Born Citizen.”
Once again: 100% FALSE.
Both of his parents would have to be US Citizens at the time of his birth in the US for Jindal to qualify as a Natural Born Citizen.
Since the statement you made, particularly the highlighted part is a provable lie. Every other part of your statement must also be considered false. Therefore, Romney surely is a RINO. Until you who support Romney give up using the slander of Ronald Reagan as part of your method of operation, nothing you say will be considered valid. You have been deluded by one of the biggest liars and phonies in history. Don't believe Romney just because the words fall from his mouth. Wake up take responsibility for what you think you know and find out the truth. Stop repeating lies, stop slandering and admit it when you are presented with the truth.
Ronald Reagan was never pro-choice but Romney was and probably still is pro-choice. He just won't admit it. Go back get the truth.
Here's some help from another freeper, Reagan Man.
Ronald Reagan was firmly in the prolife camp and clearly did not favor abortion on demand, personally or as a matter of public policy. The 1967 Therapeutic Abortion Act that Reagan signed into law as Governor of California, DID NOT grant abortions on demand. It was advertised as a compassionate law that would be used to deal with the difficult abortion cases. Specifically, it was limited to exceptions for substantial risk that would gravely impair the physical or mental health of the woman, along with exceptions for rape and incest.
Problem was, California's liberal medical community saw this new law as a way to promote and advance the abortion agenda, and in the process generate new supporters for the culture of death in America.

Go find the 1967 Therapeutic Abortion Act and read it. At no time did Ronald Reagan ever support the "right" of a woman to murder her child. Mitt Romney did and perhaps still does.
You are WRONG!
Only one parent would have to be a US Citizen, if born outside the United States, as long as that parent was 19 or over (Law at the time of his birth.)
IF born IN the US?
HE IS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN, even if his parents are NOT!
Big losers:
Mike Huckabee
Mark Sanford
Tim Pawlenty
Charlie Crist
Romney would be a terrible choice. He’s a Massachusetts Liberal. He is NOT a conservatibe no matter what he says!
The CPAC people are blind for the most part — probably did what Romney did the last time and brought in people he paid for their transportation and ballots to vote for him.
Have little faith in CPAC polls.
Palin and Jindal are in their first terms of Governor. These two need more seasoning. Save them for 2016 when the country finally tires of the Marxist Messiah and wants conservative change. Let the 2012 ticket have two RINOs who will lose badly to the Messiah.
Uhhh, read my posting history. I advocate ridding the GOP of its current leadership, and draining the swamp when it comes to RINOs.
I have several alternatives, Palin for one. Do you honestly advocate supporting whatever “compassionate conservative” idiot the GOP sh!ts out on us, just because they’re a “republican”? That kind of gutless hand-wringing got us where we are today; supporting another McCain is going to get us another term from Onazi.
Grow up yourself, grab some sack, and take a stand for COUNTRY rather than PARTY.
BTW took my text in to MS Word and it shows no spelling or grammar errors.
Let me make myself CLEAR 2 U norman!
Either bobby jindal proves he is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN or I will DESTROY his chances to be President.
I don't believe that you phrased your statement quite right. Romney won't split the vote, Conservatives will split the vote. Romney was the GOP's best choice in the previous race. But, many conservatives could not get past the fact that he is a Morman. So, instead, they chose a worn-out old RHINO, aka John McCain. The conservatives (of which I am one, just not one of the stupid one’s)did themselves in this past go around. Think they will ever learn? Maybe, but don't get your hopes up...
I agree that Palin - Jindal would be interesting. I’d be happy with that. Romney may be the most articulate and could best deal with the press. Gingrich has done some good work lately with is American solutions efforts: http://www.americansolutions.com/
Palin is more qualified to be President than anyone else mentioned by the Republican Party.
I continually withhold my comments regarding abortion, but I don’t believe that it is an issue that resonates with most Americans (even though I am against it). Most Americans are okay with the status quo, so why should Republicans make abortion their main platform? Whether we have a Democrat or a solid conservative Republican in the White House, Roe v. Wade will probably remain untouched.
If we can’t get someone elected based on their views on abortion, then we should at least find someone who will lower taxes, shrink the government, and maybe bring us closer to the roots of our founding fathers.
Polls for 2012 right now are just popularity contests for Prom King (or Queen). A lot can change from now.
