Check out the video below, where WKYC investigative reporter Tom Meyer spoke with Greg Steffey, whose wife, Hope Steffey called 911 after she was assaulted by her cousin. Things took a turn for the worst when the police arrived and treated Hope as the perpetrator. She was arrested, taken to jail, and subjected to a humiliating full-body strip search by both male and female officers, violating the sheriff department's own policy that a strip search be conducted by an officer of the same sex. Hope was then left naked in a cell for six hours. Included in the news segment was video footage of the strip search....

Fascist thugs hiding behind their badges. There will come a reckoning.
“Hope Steffey is apparently not the only one who has suffered such treatment. Five more women later came forward with similar allegations of mistreatment. But according to the police, each of the female detainees threatened suicide, which is what trigged the strip search under the presumption that they had no means of hurting themselves.
All of the women, however, deny making suicide threats.”
I happen to agree with it. Every one of them would disappear, and the station would burn.
The only ones scummier than the cops, is the TV station that “reported” this story. This is incredibly one-sided. The reporter never mentions the husband wasn’t at home when this happened. He didn’t see any of it- at the home or at the police station. Everything he’s saying is second hand information. The reporter makes a point of telling us the sheriff refuses to talk on camera, but never tells us why the alleged victim won’t speak on camera. The reporter makes a big deal about the dashcam not being on. I thought that was for traffic stops where all the action is taking place in front of the cop car. I mean, what’s the purpose of turning on the dashcam if the cops are going inside the house? The newsman also “reports” the husband’s story as fact. I believe there’s only one time in the whole report where he uses the term “they say”. Also, it isn’t until the end of the story the reporter quickly mentions the alleged victim “leaned up against the officer” and gave the cops her sister’s driver’s license. Another odd thing, instead of calling 911 after she was assaulted, the alleged victim had someone else do it. Come on. A bunch of low life white trash were partying, a fight broke out and somebody called the cops (I’d love to hear the 911 tape to see if the caller actually reported this woman was assaulted) Cops arrive and this drunken woman starts screaming in their faces. The cops tell her to shut up. She won’t. Then she “leans” on a deputy and they take her in. If they want to go after the cops for what they did, fine. But they better let us know what scumbags the “victim” and her family are, as well.
From the video and story you figured out the victims are scum bags and were having a party? I didn’t see that anywhere.
That may well have happened but it doesn’t matter. The fact is they stripped her (male and female officers) and left her naked in a cell for 6 hours. That is unexcuseable.
And where do you get off assuming that the victims are scum bags and partiers and since when did it become illegal to be drunk in one’s own home?
“...they better let us know what scumbags the victim and her family are.”
Unbelievable. There is absolutely NOTHING that a woman could be arrested for that would excuse this behavior! This is exactly what it looks like: sick cops getting their jollies by stripping and groping a pretty woman!!!
Ok, it starts...
I don’t care if the lady was drunk, dumb as a box of rocks, stoned, only in our world of 2009 is that a reason to strip a lady naked, and leave her in a cell that way for six hours. Only in America. “You People” want an aggressive, plentiful and empowered police force so that’s what we get. Folks love that until the guns are turned on them or their family.
If she only had been properly deferential to the LEOs and told them how great and wonderful they were and how thankful she was for them and how they risked their life every day for her and blah, blah, blah, then none of his would have happened, right Krankor?
And as for the white trash comment, by the grace of God, Krankor, only by the grace of God....
What an arrogant cuss you must be.
Wait until martial Law is declared, for any reason. Every police force in the country will jump at the chance to show off their authority and equipment.
Sounds flat-out middle of the road moderate to me!
How could all those people do that to another human being? It’s violent gang rape and they should be charged accordingly.
Just viewing the video we can see plainly that the department acted illegally.
(Sidebar: Can you imagine the uproar if it was a MUSLIM woman subjected to this type of search and being stripped naked in front of males. Wow. But because she is not muslim no sensitivity is necessary. We can know that if she was a muslim woman the department would have handled that strip and search differently. Are non-muslim women not allowed the same level of modesty?)
As a former police officer (many years ago) I usually side with the police, giving the benefit of doubt to them. Not in this case. Going by the video alone, the police have much to answer for.
In your world, only the "right" people have any rights, eh?
>> Sorry, if that ever happened to my wife, Id have to hunt down and execute every last one of the LEOs involved.
+1
...and wherever I could arrange it their death would not come quickly. Disgusting vermin.
The only good thing about this whole episode is that a sheriff is an elected official. The citizens can and should turn him out of office over this and replace him with a real reformer who will fumigate the entire department.

Did you see that one cow FILMING it??!? I bet it showed up on some porno site on the Internet.
