Washington, DC -- The White House quietly announced on Friday that President Barack Obama is starting the process of overturning protections President Bush put in place to make sure medical staff and centers are not forced to do abortions. The move is the latest that will add to Obama's growing pro-abortion record.
Existing federal laws already make it so doctors and hospitals are not required to perform abortions. Because those laws aren't always followed, the Bush administration added additional protections.
Now, the Obama administration is Starting the process to remove them.

Culture of death and destruction.
We must stress this over and over, just like they do
Right up until we turn on Israel.
Nothing like putting a Communist in office makes you regret being part of the Cold War.
"Why the hell did we even bother?" - common thought running through veterans' heads.
The Bishops and Priests who stand up for life are marginalized. Some Priests are effectively “Bish-slapped” if they get to vocal in support of the Pro-Life movement (I know this to be true).
The social justice aspect of Catholic teaching has been perverted to mean Socialism. And Humanea Vite (sp?) is lost in the drive to harbor criminal aliens.
I could go on but I just remembered it's Lent and I am getting rather full of myself. Gotta go and get a fish sandwich.
It’s going to be a great day when, after this self-inflicted national nightmare is over, the next president, if Republican, will reverse EVERY one of The Messiahs executive orders and rulings such as this. Just over a month into this gig and he has already pi$$ed off a LOT of people. And he so many enablers that will keep him in office. I add the SCOTUS to that list because they refuse to broach the birth certificate issue. The One is not the president unless or until he provides that, along with his college record for close examination. He is to be considered an illegal alien posing as POTUS until those requirements are met.
No, sir. Protection of the life God created is our responsibility.
I got the impression that this was the general sentiment at the last vet's day celebration I was at.
Everything they fought to defeat was just elected by popular majority.
It has run through mine about a thousand times a day.
Wow, how utterly disgusting. Its hard to believe that people so “anti-war” have no trouble murdering babies. At least American soldiers go to war as consenting adults.
Obama's 5th week in office
The Obama administration is moving to rescind a federal rule that reinforced protections for medical providers who refuse to perform abortions or other procedures on moral grounds, an official said today.(2/27/2009)

The entire list may be viewed at my profile. This week has so many events, it is too much to post with each item. It is staggering how fast the administration is moving.
Lord Obama is fine with killing babies, and he’s all for letting old people die, rather than giving them expensive treatments. Where will he go from there? A religion, a race, or people who just don’t agree with him?
To force a doctor or nurse to participate in an abortion procedure that is against that doctor’s or nurse’s religious conscience has to be un-constitutional. It is tantamount to forcing that person to preform an act forbidden by the person’s religious beliefs. There are plenty of other places to get abortions, so we wouldn’t be limiting a woman’s ability to choose death for her baby.
Making a devout Muslim or Jewish federal prisoner eat pork has been ruled by our courts as wrong, isn’t a forced participation in an act equivalent to human killing even more wrong?
These people are nothing if not aggressive. What happens when they come after Catholic hospitals trying to force them to offer abortions? What will the 75% of Catholic bishops who did not speak out last year about abortion during the election do then?
I think in Obama’s world view, the right to an abortion is the highest right of all, superceding any other rights other people might claim.
Doctors do not do abortions butchers do.
Any hospital which grants them privileges will not be able to collect any Medicare or other federal funds, but will still be required to provide Medicare services. To protect themselves, the hospitals will be forced to either close or rescind the doctors' hospital privileges.
Many medical schools use a different oath now. My sister-in-law was sworn using a non-abortion-forbidding oath that her class voted for. My brother, already a doctor, swore her privately later with the real one, at her request.
I’ll admit to being conflicted over this issue for many, many years. I have a great deal of respect for those who have such moral clarity as you exhibit, on either side of the argument.
There is nothing I can say to sway your opinion; nothing that might happen to make you challenge your position. And, I don’t want to try.
I do, however, admit to being more than a little aggravated by those who use this issue as the single ‘litmus test’ of political candidates, judicial nominees, and the like.
There is a reason God granted us free will.
Thanks for the response.
I'm beginning to honestly believe we may be headed for a split in this country, with say Texas, Oklahoma, and other like minded red states seeking to break away from this repidly becoming cesspool of a nation.
Living in the People's Republic of Illinois, guess I'd better not get too attached to my home, job, etc.
