Holder continues his attack on 2nd Amendment

At a press conference today announcing the drug cartel arrests (in which he had little to no involvement), US AG Holder also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.

Why is it OUR job to reduce the bloodshed in that sewer called Mexico? If the @$$holes at the border would do their job, guns wouldn’t be taken into Mexico. We’re already spending a fortune trying to handle Mexico’s poverty problem, I don’t think our Second Amendment rights should be trampled to stop THEIR bloodshed problem.

The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today. "As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

"I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent, would be something that would be permitted under Heller," Holder said. "And besides, you all are just a bunch of cowards anyway, so this should be easy to accomplish."

I can't help but wonder why it is that the Mexican government can't seem to provide the necessary fire power to their law enforcement agencies, and yet the Obama administration seems to think it's our fault, that "their" bad guys are so well armed.

Yes something definitely stinks about all this.

Obama will seek these 4 elements in a gun bill

1. An expanded HR 45, gun owner licensing. All gun owners will have to have these licenses, even owners of facilimie weapons (AKA Airsoft and BB). Licenses will only be granted if the records of the applicant are clean (This includes misdemeanors from decades ago). Licensees will be required to hold $1 million in liability insurance. Possession of otherwise permitted weapons (See #3) without license is a felony.

2. Ammunition accountability... All ammo will be required to be microstamped and will be taxed $1/round. All non stamped ammo will be required to be turned in or thrown away. Possession of non-marked ammo is a felony. This part of the act also bans “Cop Killer” bullets.

3. Expanded “Assault Weapons” ban— This includes most all semiauto rifles, anything that can be “Bump Fired”, Semiauto handguns, and Semi-auto shotguns. It also includes pump-action shotguns and “Sniper Rifles” AKA your deer rifle. The AWB will also require people with “Prebans” to register their guns as Machine Guns, and that the tax stamp will go up to $10,000 per weapon, or turn it in without compensation...

4. Expansion of the Lautenbach amendment: Removes “Domestic Violence” as disqualifier to gun ownership, inserts any misdemeanor as disqualifer... Anyone with a misdemeanor on their record will be prohibited from owning a firearm. This includes DUI and traffic offenses, and offenses decades ago.

There you have it in a nutshell...

Holder is an idiot and not fit to hold the position he is in.

Also, if a ban is instituted, I’m cutting the Government off. No more guns for them from my company...

Mike

The Leftist agenda has always included the total disarmament of Americans as a prelude to further encroachments on civil liberties and the eventual imposition of a Marxist regime. They’re determined to succeed bit by inexorable bit, utilizing specious reasoning and outright lies.

Does this mean the admittedly not-yet-well-stocked ammo cache I have is going to be illegal?

It doesn’t matter if the policy makes sense. As long as it makes a few gun-haters ‘feel good’, that’s all that matters.

There is no need for a ban. Just having these guys in office has made it all but impossible to find an "Evil Black Rifle" to buy, and those individuals who have them have no desire whatsoever to sell them. On a positive note, firearms and ammunition sales are the one area of the economy that is booming (no pun intended). So what "Stimulus Package" do you suppose is driving that? (/s)

Is there something wrong with Holder’s memory? AWBI, along with Hillary Care led to the congressional elections of 1994, making it the most memorable Phyrric political victory in recent times.

Maybe Holder just isn’t that political. But it’s for sure the folks who picked him out are. Right about now they are probably shoving a rolled up gym sock in his mouth and putting duct tape over it.

I don’t think this guy is anything but a front guy for Obama Justice. Somebody without Senate approval will be pulling his strings in the background, just like Holder did with Janet Reno. The real players in this administration won’t have fancy titles like USAG.
