In a second reversal of the Bush administration, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Wednesday he is scrapping leases for oil-shale development on federal land in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Salazar rescinded a lease offer made last month for research, development and demonstration projects that could have led to oil-shale works on 1.9 million acres in the three states, greatly expanding the program.

"I am withdrawing that Jan. 14 solicitation because in my view it was a midnight decision, and it was flawed," Salazar told reporters on a teleconference call from Washington, D.C

Massive unemployment in the mining and oil-shale industry.
Salazar, doing all he can do to increase unemployment.

Where did this jerk come from? Colorado. Another state fucked up by the Democrats.

Yeah, Obama’s on a roll. By this time next year, the old productive America will cease to exist. Welcome to the New Amerika. Hail to the Kommisar Obama.

If Obama was a medical doctor, I think his school’s motto would be: “First, Do as much harm as possible and don’t stop until your patient is dead, dead, dead”.

I'm the last
of my class
The disgrace
of the institute

Cuz my patients die
Yeah, My pay-ay-ay-tients die
Before they can pay.

Like a surgeon (HEY!)
Cuttin' for the very first time....

When the Jury Box and Ballot Box have been corrupted - the Cartridge Box holds the only solution....

There is a reason it's ALWAYS Leftist politicians pushing for gun control, gun registration and too restrictive carry laws...

They KNOW the purpose of an Armed American citizenry is SPECIFICALLY “aimed” at tyrannical government.....

The 2nd Amendment was NOT intended to provide hunters with the equipment to shoot Bambi, or Donald Duck or Wiley Coyote.... It was to arm citizens against GOVERNMENT “misbehavior”....

“Why not do this in, say, Feb 2005 and let the companies get in and involved for four years so it’s harder to get them out?

Or maybe in 2002.”

You make a valid point. Good question.

An interesting way to increase jobs. Already they have eliminated thousands of real private industry jobs while they try to suck up to the enviros.

I remember when Salazar ran for Ben Nighthorse’s empty seat. He tried so hard to look conservative. Colorado changed a lot in the 4 years I was there.

America must be broken. It is simply not fair that our capitalist system has made this country economically and militarily preeminent in the world.

Not good enough republicans have to fight teh way democrats do. Demand resignations, tell the American people these policies are immoral, encourage protests.

I’m sick of hearing conservative commentators calmly reciting how “we don’t do those things”.

They were voted out. A nation gets the government it deserves.

I know they were voted out of the majority. They still exist don’t they. I’m sick of republican ineffectiveness. Democrats had been voted out a short time ago as well. They clawed their way back.

Well it took a lot longer for the RATs to claw their way back and much of that was thanks to GWB. I believe that the Republicans in Congress are keeping silent for reasons of long term strategy. This is high stakes politics at it's best. Let the Dems overreach and pass too many laws that affect too many people in too many different (but all negative) ways. As the clamor begins to rise from those affected, like the gun control laws that will hit law abiding democrats as much as law abiding republicans and independents. Like the fairness doctrine, like the huge tax hikes to redistribute wealth, like capping military pay in time of war....Like seriously gutting any semblance of the 10th Amendment. I predict that the backlash against the Dems in 2010 is going to make the sweep of Congress in 1994 look puny. By that time Obambi will be well on his way to becoming the 22nd President to be voted out after just one term.

And the guy is from Colorado. When he ran for the Senate, he ran as a “centrist.” Guess that charade is over.

Charade is right. Why anyone bought it is beyond my ability to understand. I know lots of people who did though.
