The Scene: A fictitious meeting in the new era of the GOPs ever-expanding big tent.
-------------------------------
I had the pleasure of sitting down to dinner with two members of my county Republican Party steering committee this week to discuss the GOPs options as we move into the 2010 election cycle. I was joined by Dr. Eric von Dersgarten (of the Rhine Valley Dersgartens, of course) and Cecilia Montgomery.
Ms. Montgomery chose the venue for our meeting and I have to say it was one of the most unusual ever, nicely setting the tone for what was to come. It was located in the downtown area of the city, seldom frequented by yours truly, and called Check Yo Nine. I assumed it was some sort of Asian eatery, but nothing of the kind was in evidence as I entered. The establishment was, however, one of the most ethnically and racially diverse establishments Id visited in many years and the local patrons took a great deal of interest in our arrival.
At Erics urging we were all seated promptly, while Cecilia had taken the liberty of ordering drinks for us in advance. It was a delightfully bold, yet somewhat tart concoction called Camo 5X and came in a shockingly large serving size which looked to be approximately forty ounces. Dr. Dersgarten was well ahead of me in the curiosity department and pressed Cecilia for an explanation as to what we were doing there.
In response, she handed us both printouts of recent statements by RNC Chair Michael Steele regarding a new direction for the party. Cecilia excitedly informed us that this new outreach program to expand the Republican base and appeal to the youth vote would focus on applying the partys traditional message to urban suburban hip-hop settings.

Oddly enough, if I’m not mistaken, “Check Yo Nine” could be translated into English as “look to the left”
Isn’t this a sign of the Apocalypse?
I think it refers to securing your gat with the bouncer.
This will not bring the GOP one single black vote.
Yeah Yeah Yeah!
This sounds like an extremely bad idea.
Lack of rap music is not why we lost the last election.

I need a drink. Badly. And keep ‘em coming.
Will they sign up Michael Jackson next?
The way to get black votes is, ironically, to remove ALL entitlements, set-asides, and affirmative action.
That way, every person of every skin color is playing in the same field, and everyone is going to be voting for capitalism because all will have to work or starve.
Didn’t know PJ Media sponsored racist content.
The Country Clubbers better learn to accept non-traditional Republicans or they are going to get lonely behind those gates. Or Party is about conservative values, not merely just wealth preservation.
We really need to start a new party. The GOP hasn't a clue despite all that time we all wasted on the phone telling them. We need to start "The Conservative Party of the U.S.A".
I think some of these folks like Michael Steele are really saying that we need to reach out to a broader base not by trying to out-liberal the liberals but by showing them how conservative policies will in fact benefit them and set them free from the plantation of liberalism.
Yo, GOP, check yo 6. Dat incoming be Bawney Fwank!
What the hell is ‘Fo Shizzle?’
" a delightfully bold, yet somewhat tart concoction called Camo 5X and came in a shockingly large serving size which looked to be approximately forty ounces."
Sounds kinda refreshing. And shooting makes me REALLY thirsty. Anyone else notice that?
What do you want it to be?
It is a minority group that will only die with the Democrat party.
What we really have to do is concentrate on the center and "wishy washy sort of right" to show them that appeasement is not the answer, which they are really going to find big time with Obama.
We need strong leadership with unwavering conservative values to get in there and turn this country around. End the corruption in all levels of government,Media, and put this country back on it's Christian foundation.
The votes from the former culture of entitlement will come the next election after they've learned to work and pull their own wieght. They won't be so willing to give their wages away. Right now they don't give a damn if they take wages from "rich working people".
