In the last few weeks, there have been a number of suggestions as to how to regain control of the government and our nation's direction. Some, such as Ron Paul's minions, are planning an April run on banks to try to "bring the system down." (Abbie Hoffman, is that you?) Others have suggsted various other plans, some good, some long-term, some organizational in nature.
I think I have the plan. It's not time yet. We'll know when. But I take my lead from our fellow Tennessee patriots who stopped that state's income tax from passing by basically tying up the capitol with a traffic jam and "human jam" of enormous proportions. (The French truckers did this a few years ago, too, to protest something).
Here's my suggestion: WHEN IT'S TIME, millions need to descend peacefully on D.C. in cars (the more the better), but planes, trains, and surreys will work too. Bring your sleeping bags. Stage the largest sit-down strike in American history, a strike that will make the inaguration crowd look like a bar mitzvah. Once again, PEACEFUL is the word.
The idea would be to so completely tie up D.C. that absolutely nothing could move. No staffers could get in, no media could get in or out except by helo. Some people might have to sacrifice cars---so some people might want to bring "beaters," and just walk away. What would happen if suddenly D.C. looked like one of those scenes from a horror movie, with hundreds of abandoned cars? It could take weeks to move anything. People would not be "PROTESTING" per se, but just "visiting" to express their concern, milling about, blocking up the nation's sick heart like a giant blood clot.
Imagine if no one can get in or out of airports? What would "they" do? Call the army? To do what? Herd people out? (How would THEY get in?)
I haven't fully fleshed this out, but it strikes me that it would be absolutely unbeatable. Read Jean Rapail's "The Camp of the Saints" and see how effective non-violent "showing up" can be!
Count me in.
Couldn’t work because conservatives are too busy working to make a living and can’t take the 3-5 days off it would take to make the round trip.
I do agree, however, that our politicians have stopped listening to mere protests that have no ‘punch’. How about an alternative that’s workable...
Do the same thing at and around local federal office buildings all over the country. Accomplish the same thing but do it nationwide. Let those who are within driving distance of DC do DC, but the rest of us can do the same thing nationally at our local federal facilities. It would take grassroots organization and planning on an extensive scale to coordinate a synchronized movement nationwide, and I believe that’s what the Chicago Tea party is trying to accomplish on July 4 this year. Perhaps we need to merge ideas.
I’ve been looking for a reason to make a 2nd cross country motorcycle trip this year. 50,000 motorcycles with loud pipes to add the commotion - you betcha.
Good idea........I suggest April 15th...

I,myself, purposely have set aside vacation time for an event like this......but I understand your reasoning..
Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.
Hey Barack HUSSEIN Obama, I went to Harvard too! That was the worst fieldtrip of my life, but I went there...
And everybody remain silent, just stand looking at them, and then disperse silently, it’ll scare the crap out of them
I don’t agree with the excuse, but it’s the first thing conservatives say when someone is promoting a rally or protest. I appreciate it when people are willing to tell the truth and admit that they can take time off for such events, they just have chosen not to. Or in your case, chosen to. Good for you. Hope we can inspire more to do like you in the coming months.
Great video. We SO wanted them to win.. they totally ROCKED out.
As for the protest, Count me in as well.. I would love to see something like this.
Millions? I'm sorry, but I live nowhere near D.C. and I work for a living. Any sort of centralized protest is bound to fail. Conservatives are busy people, and D.C. is WAY out of the way for most of us. It's got to be a protest that people can get involved in where they live. And not necessarily street-theater stuff, either.
Sounds good! Do you think F&F will come to broadcast amongst us?
I guaran-damn-tee it.
Yep, I agree. Maybe even bring some tar and feathers.
I’ve seen some postings on FR about a Washington gathering in early September. I always like to take a vacation after Labor Day when things are less crowded. I’m planning to make DC a stop this September so I can join this gathering. If you’re retired or can schedule a vacation for September, then it should be possible to attend such an event. In Chicago, I’ve seen the dates April 15 and July 4 for a local gathering. I will be attending those events as well.
I remember standing on the TN capitol’s steps, seeing all those people, hearing all those horns (including a retired fire truck or two) and grinning ear to ear at the thought that we were letting our elected officials know who really has the power.
