If you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, reader Mark Christopher Frimmel has come forward to put a Tea Party 09 event together. He put up an ad on Dallas Craigslist, has contacted local radio and TV, and wants you to be there. The protest will be held on the outside stage at The Cowtown Bar & Grill on Friday, Feb. 27, from 3pm to 7pm, located at 7108 Camp Bowie Blvd Fort Worth, TX. Music, food, and great fiscal conservative company guaranteed.
whew..hope I did not leave anyone out here..but I have a few concerns about this dude that Malkin has decided to promote as the best place in DFW to hold a rally. The 7000 block of Camp Bowie is way out where we will have little impact..if at all...other than stimulating the bar tab at Cowtown Bar n Grill.
Might I suggest..that we have a little ‘rally’ in downtown Fort Worth somewhere..and then if this guy at ‘Cowtown Bar n Grill’ wants our business and has a band all set up,etc...we go there afterwards.
Hey...I am all for having a party....but can we try to make a difference first?
TX Tea Party Ping! Ping! Ping!
I’ll be there...You be there!!
San Antonio or Austin have one yet? (And why is it during work hours?)
For what it’s worth, it looks like “hundreds of thousands” of people agree with the idea:

I’ll be there! I’m coming from McKinney and will be staying the night in Ft. Worth. Looking forward to it.
I’ll spread the word, and take off early to be there.....
Should we Bring SIGNS ?
When you’re at the Gun show, and you Pick up a rifle to look down the Sight.....Before you put it to your Shoulder, ask “Which Direction is DC ?”
Then swing the barrel in that direction when you try it for size.
ANYONE GOOGLE “TEA PARTY” ....... Looks like a CODE PINK minority response, Building to a CODE RED
Here’s an updated link that says they welcome signs. I’m not organizing this. I’m just passing on the info.

And to those who have complained about times, location, etc. my suggestion is that if the location is bad or the time is bad, organize one that works for you! My understanding as that these are going to pop up all over the country next Friday.
I’d be for putting one together on the Dallas side of the metroplex, but just complaining about it and saying you can’t go isn’t the answer. If we need to organize one for between 11 and 1 for downtown Dallas, couldn’t people come on their lunch break?
And just one other thing about the “I can’t go, I work” excuse...er, I mean, reason for not attending. May I point out that many of us have, on numerous occasions, left work early to go to a happy hour function, or to go to the doctor or to serve on jury duty or to drop off a car to the shop any other number of personal reasons. There is no more personal reason to miss some time off from work than to save our country!
C’mon, people, a little perspective. We’re fighting against Democrats and liberals who can put together a huge rally from the unemployment line and the homeless shelters. There’s got to be a response from those of us who are paying for all of that!
I’ve emailed Mark. He’s working on contacting Mike Gallagher and several other conservatives in the area to help rally the masses. If you know of anyone or have ideas, FReepmail me and I’ll immediately get your message to Mark.
Thanks guys!
BTW, any thoughts on battle wear for the event? Perhaps we might coordinate this via FReepmail to keep the libs in the dark. We can toss out ideas here, though.
***TEA PARTY ‘09***
Bring your protest signs, and indignant taxpayer attitudes to the Rally/Demonstration in Fort Worth, on February 27th, 2009, at the outside stage area, at the Cowtown Bar & Grill, located at 7108 Camp Bowie Blvd Fort Worth, TX 76116, 3pm till dark.
THE “DESERT SON BAND” WILL BE PERFORMING SOME GREAT ORIGINAL PROTEST SONGS
COME JOIN THE FUN!!!
Buckeye sent me this suggestion for those of us FReepers in attendance.
Maybe you could ping the list with suggestions for some sort of identification that we can wear? Something noticeable, but not overt? Sort of like the paper clip on the lapel thing during WWII. Something easy to get on short notice ...
- certain color rubber band on the right-hand wrist
- tea bag string around the (F)irst finger on the (R)ight hand
- ???
Other smaller groups are doing this at other tea party events around the country. I know one conservative group who simply wrote the letter C in red ink on the top of their right hands between the thumb and index finger.
Just a thought ...
~Buckeye
Any suggestions?
I think the tea bag thing is a great cheap idea. Or if you wear a hat or visor, hot glue or elmers glue it to your hat or visor. And even maybe write the TX on the tea bag with a marker.
That’ll be hard to do.
I'm in DC until that morning.
I found this and this is good to read before you go to any tea party. BE PREPARED

We could all wear the scarlet letter........”F”
Is there a reason we should be inconspicuous? Are we under threat? How about we wear anything patriotic? I have American flag pins, American flag do-rags, etc. If we all know where we are supposed to meet, why do we need something special to distinguish ourselves? Any lefties that show up will make themselves evident post haste, right? Hell, I’ll wear a doughnut on my head if need be. I’m just not sure it needs to be so cloak and dagger. Count me in. What’s the date?
See ya there?
Prolly not. But its a great idea.
Needs refining.
Sorry, responded to a ping before I read the header. I will be there with colors on.
