OKC officer pulls man over for anti-Obama sign on vehicle

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read "Abort Obama, not the unborn."

Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

''I pulled over, knowing I hadn't done anything wrong," Harrison said in a recent phone interview.

When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

‘’When I was on my way there, the Secret Service called me and said they weren’t going to ransack my house or anything ... they just wanted to (walk through the house) and make sure I wasn’t a part of any hate groups.”

Don't forget, O hasn't had time to replace the entire Secret Service yet. The Men in Black were probably shaking their heads, laughing up their sleeves, rolling their eyes and trying not to wink and nudge the guy. I looooove the Secret Service "agent Frowny" who protected the Palins (he is just behind her between her and the "COUNTRY FIRST" sign).

Far too many people are either too young to remember or have forgotten the debacle that was the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago. I watched this unfold in real-time back in ‘68. In defense of the police officer, and I don't believe the driver commited a crime here, having the words saying Abort Obama can be taken as a death threat against the President. If someone had a bumper sticker saying abort Bush, I would support police investigating this.

Not usually.
They know they can intimidate someone into going along, and get away with coming in without a warrant.
If you let 'em in, they don't need one.
But most folks are just plain scared, and believe that if they don't let them in that then they'll really be in deep shit.
But that's not the case - and often, judges will not sign a warrant based upon nothing more than an anonymous tip with no hard evidence to back it up.
Do you have proof to the contrary?
There must be something called "probable cause," however flimsy.
I cannot imagine a decent judge issuing a warant on this case.

My sense is that this guy was LUCKY he lives in OKLAHOMA. It was the ONLY state in the union that had EVERY DISTRICT go against OBAMA in the election.

It's pretty much impossible to not break some driving law if an officer follows you long enough. On Officer George Bruch's video "Don't talk to the police" he just flat out tells you if he follows you long enough he can justifiable pull you over.
