Its all very Back To The Future-y, but engine maker Cyclone Power and Robotic Technologies have teamed up to build a robot called EATR, which stands for Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot. When they say energetically autonomous, it means that EATR will be able to locate and process available biomass (plants, animals, people) into energy using its own onboard bioreactor.

Not if we destroy Cyberdyne!
They will deploy these things around nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, and morgues.
Now, we need an appropriate Sci-Fi Film title:
Carnobots
Killbots
Deathbots
I grew up after. In the ruins... starving... hiding from H-K’s.
EATR; I fart in your general direction.
Why would they make something that “processes” people?
Aren’t they concerned that at some point they might not be able to control it?
Nothing new. We used to use those things during war time to run our vehicles. You could put sticks and other pieces of wood or coal in them, light it, and it would slowly smolder and convert the woodstuff to a gas which in turn ran the engine.
As long as there was some bush and scrub around, you’d never run out of gas.
Biomass - like dung? What kind of exhaust do these vehicles produce?
