While scripted shows still largely reflect a white male society, the faces we see on reality shows are more diverse.

Why hasn’t Sam Zell liquidated this piece of excrement “diveristy” propaganda organ known as the LA Times?
Aren’t they supposed to be bankrupt? When are the creditors going to seize assets?
Hmmm but when I turn on MTV there are only black thugs, black gangsters, white sluts, and everybody else are nerds and losers.
I guess that’s diversity you can believe in.
Bad boys, bad boys
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
When they come for you
I read years ago that there must a black in every tv program. It has something to do with some type of agreement.
Our cultural moderators are sick & obsessed.
Mr. Braxton needs to have several loaves of white bread stuffed up every orifice he’s got on his metrosexual elitist person.
Well, I’ve been to the offices of the LAT, BTW.
They are as lily-white as you can get. Full of liberal white guilt-heads from the Dems who talk about race but their own staff are all white...the hypocrisy of these idiots.
There is only one Jack Bauer. Everything else on TV is a waste of time. Great show tonight!
Such is fine as an observation. It is acceptable for NAACP, as a private group, to exert pressure on the networks. Certainly the federal government should never, never touch the issue (under President Obama and this Dem Congress, it is very likely to happen; the American people need to loudly reject that interference).
Objectively, the networks are in the business of entertainment. They should NOT put on shows that make less money just because they profile better "diversity".
UNDERREPRESENTED groups: Smart white men, hispanics, Asians, dumb women, succubusses who leech of their boyfriends and husbands.
Certainly not a main character or even a minor character. A couple of shows from the past years that come to mind immediately are Seinfeld, Friends, and That 70's Show.
Perhaps the worst racism is that of the liberal who sees minorities as numbers to fill a quota, rather than as individual people. I think a lot of minorities who appear on TV - both reality show contestants and professional actors - don't want to be known primarily as "the black guy" or "the Hispanic girl." They'd rather be known for their personalities, their likes and dislikes, their careers, their alliances, etc. Hell, even Richard Hatch, the fat naked gay guy, is the fat naked gay guy. Fat and naked are before gay.
I think we need more sitcoms where the husband is fat, white, and dumb and the wife is attractive, witty, and is always right. /sarc
Some years ago a poll came out showing how most Americans grossly overestimated the population percentages of racial minorities in the US as a whole, with much accompanying speculation as to the role of TV in creating that impression.
LOL! So true. And I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Kevin James is possibly the least funny comedian I have ever seen in my life.
Oh, and here I thought “Reality TV” WAS scripted... [/cynic]
