On Friday the 13 of February 2009 both houses of the US Congress passed the largest spending bill in the history of our nation. The final amount of the bill is reported to be $787 Billion.
Congressional staffers have been inundated with calls, emails, and faxes by Americans responding to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, otherwise known as the Stimulus Bill. The voters contacting Washington, DC have voiced clearly that they are against this bill for the past two weeks.
Congressman Dr Broun of Georgia left Washington, DC Friday evening and caught a flight home. Once he landed at the Atlanta airport, the Congressman called into the Dontgo Movement radio program on the Heading Right Station of Blog Talk Radio. During his conversation with host Willie Lawson Congressman Broun shared a conversation he had with a lobbyist in his office earlier that day.....

>> Democrat Staffer: “They’re Just People”
Does that place us above or below the level of a fetus?
Thank you. I am with you and I agree about the revolt.
I have had my flag up since about 9:45 am 9/11/01. It will not be up tomorrow”
I have a new one: Inside the left rear window of my station wagon:
It is upside down, with the stars at the lower left.
Been there since Nov 5.
We are all in distress.
The Secret Service are “just people” too.
Well Lookie, the stuffed pig was oinking before the stimulus to kill off citizens. Looks like Obey had some debt to pay on this stimulus too.

Who Ya Gonna Call - Pork Busters
Americans For Prosperity is holding a rally today to call on Dave Obey to fulfill Democrats' campaign promises to bring more transparency to the earmark process. Obey has proven that he will simply practice business as usual when it comes to running the appropriations committee.
Here's the press release:
In response to Congressman David Obey's attempt to hide pork-barrel earmarks from American taxpayers, I'm excited to announce that Americans for Prosperity's Wisconsin chapter will hold a grassroots rally tomorrow, June 14, outside of Congressman David Obey's home office in Wausau in support of pork-barrel transparency.
At the rally, grassroots taxpayers from Congressman Obey's district will call on him to release all of the pork-barrel earmark requests he has received from rank-and-file Members of Congress so they and other taxpayers around the country can help the Appropriations Committee Chairman evaluate their merits.
We'll also present Congressman Obey's staff with the names of hundreds of Americans who have volunteered to help him review more than 36,000 requests for pork-barrel spending. Just one day after AFP helped kick off an online petition drive, more than 700 Americans have signed up to help the overworked Chairman.
Our rally will also feature a giant pork-barrel pig, which our members plan to rename in Chairman Obey's honor.
If you're in the Wausau area tomorrow, be sure to join us at Noon on the sidewalk outside Congressman Obey's office at First Star Plaza , in Wausau .
And if you haven't already done so, be sure to sign our online petition at Porkbusters.org/petition/.
an important excerpt from the article

During the same program, Congressman Shaddegg of Arizona shared details of the bill and frustration over the process involved in the writing of the bill. Shaddegg discussed in length the issue of $1.1 Billion allocated to do Comparative Effectiveness Research, which he described as a massive study by the government to decide which medical procedures and treatments, and which prescription drugs the government will allow people who are on government paid for health care have and which medical procedures and treatments, or which prescription drugs the government will say, No, Im sorry. We dont deem that to be worthwhile, so you dont get that drug even though you and your doctor believe you desperately need it; or you dont get that procedure even though you and your treating physician believe it may save your life.
Shaddegg went on to say that 63 different patient advocacy groups contacted Pelosi and expressed concern over this portion of the bill, asking her to take the language out, but she refused. Congressman Obey of Wisconsin put the language in the bill and claimed today on CSPAN that this language will be used exactly for the reason of deciding what patients are worthy of what treatments.

I’m curious, is it that the government won’t pay for that particular drug or treatment or the government will not allow the treatment at all even if the patient pays out of pocket?
Read the comments after the article. More brain dead liberals.
Thank you. Your post nailed to a T exactly how I felt the first few days after the election. Not so much that ‘we lost’ and the bad guys won, but the fact that Obama was revealed for who and what he is, and what he believes, his associates, his character and morals, etc. on the campaign trail.....and no one cared and half this country voted for him anyways. THAT’S what was so upsetting to me.
Politicians are just masses of undifferentiated cells.
Well, yes... we are just people.
And by making a distinction, that means the democraps in Congress... *ARE NOT PEOPLE*!!!
All we will do is sit here and whine.
Truly, it is us vs. them.
LLS
Is there money in the stimulus bill to pay for cake so that all of us “just people” can eat?
That's awful. There can be no redeeming of a dead man. Should have just shot him in the knee or elbow, with a small caliber. Make him thoughtful on rainy days!
Bears repeating. It is the #1 most powerful and effective remedy here, if enough people support it.
