Darwin Praise Service Begins

Feb 01, 2009 — The celebrations in honor of Charles Robert Darwin for his 200th birthday (Feb. 12) and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his influential book On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection (Nov. 29th) are well underway. It is hard to think of any other scientist who gets the kind of gushy adulation heaped on this one man. It borders on religious euphoria. Some examples:...

What a difference a theory makes:

“...dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.... that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom....”

—Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address, 1863.

“But then with me the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man’s mind, which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?”

—Charles Darwin, Letter to William Graham, 1881. Died 1882.

I’ve got no real problem with any scientific theory. I believe God created everything including the science that makes things work.

That being said, this worship of Darwin is bit silly.

The Messiah of the atheists.

Praise Darwin.

If you look at the picture's of Darwin, the shape of his head, you know where he got the idea. His facial features, particularly in the eye/eyebrow/forehead area, more closely resembles a gorilla.

Just an observation.

So we should just say and do nothing while the MSM is overrun with articles praising Darwin for giving us his brain-dead materialist creation myth? I don’t think so.

.......That’s because evolution is a faith......

Only those bogged down by faith and a massive rind around their head that blocks rational thought a reason have such a view.

"It is hard to think of any other scientist who gets the kind of gushy adulation heaped on this one man."

Oh, please. The only people who are "gushing" over Darwin are the creationists. In their day, Newton, Edison, Tesla, and Einstein got far more "adulation" than Darwin did in his.

The difference is that Newton, and the others deserved much of the praise they received, Darwin doesn’t.

The anti-darwin folks might get a convert or two by all the postings.

But they will turn off a few hundred who are wondering what republicans think.

And a few thousand who post to different boards, and link these articles as proof that conservatives are only anti-science idiots.

I am wondering if these posters (really only one) are purposely trying to paint conservatives this way. They couldn’t do a better job if they tried.

Only in the minds of knuckle-dragging creationist Luddites. Among his scientific peers of both his era and today, he deserves (and receives) as much credit as any of the others. The theory of natural selection is as seminal to biology as E=mC2 is to physics.

The Darwinists are the ones that think their relatives were knuckle draggers.

When does the worship service start in The House of Darwin?
