Can You Have Evolution Without Darwin?
Feb 11, 2009 It might seem crass to diminish the reputation of a historical figure right before his Bicentennial, but its happening. There are some who are trying to chuck Darwin. In the New York Times, Carl Safina shocked readers with his title, Darwinism Must Die So That Evolution May Live....

...dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.... that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom....
Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg Address, 1863.
But then with me the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of mans mind, which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?
Charles Darwin, Letter to William Graham, 1881. Died 1882.
Darwin’s Bicentennial Birthday ping!
LOL!
With or without Darwin, evolution is a farce at face value.
What a stupid question.
My only wish was that when they would teach Darwin in school they wouldn’t shorten the title of his book in order to make it “PC.”
EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION
A Proclamation.
Whereas, on the twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, a proclamation was issued by the, people of the world, containing, among other things, the following, to wit:
That on the twelfth day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine,
all Darwin doubters held as captives within any scientific community or designated
part of an academic institution, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion
against the Darwin Party, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the
administration of any institution, including the hiring and firing authority thereof,
will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons, and will do no act or
acts to expel such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for
their actual freedom of inquiry.
That on this day, hereby to be designated Academic Freedom Day, that inquiries
into the actual nature of the living things, including their design, and their
functional information, and their origins, shall henceforth be decoupled from any
and all slavish requirement of metaphysical naturalism, or any other such limits
on free and honest investigation toward following the evidence where it leads, as
befits the quest to discover and understand the sources and operations of nature.
And upon this act, sincerely believed to be an act of justice, warranted by the
principles of noble science, upon academic necessity, I invoke the considerate
judgment of mankind, and the gracious favor of Almighty God.

Absolutely, Darwin just happened to be someone who observed the something and commented on it. It is like saying can you have Gravity without Newton. Newton observed and studied something, he didn’t create it, nor was he the final authority, we learn new things about Gravity every day.
Evolution, as proposed by Darwin that ALL life evolved from a single theoretical source, is certainly a farce. Natural Selection, which was the main focus of his thesis however, is most certainly, God or no god, provable!
Can you have gravity without Newton?
But Newton’s theory of gravity was just a THEORY, and it’s taught as if fact.
Besides, Einstein’s General Theory proves that Newton was wrong.
But wait. Einstein’s Special Theory and General Theory are just THEORIES, and they’re taught as if fact.
Besides, science is HARD to understand.
I thank God that humans are capable of changing and adapting to their environment. What a gift.
The fact that different races arose in different parts of the world seems to be a fine testement to human adaptability. A fine gift indeed.
Natural selection could play a small part in how we got here.
But there are countless examples in nature of things it can’t explain. For example the spider web. If spiders need their webs to catch their food they would have died out eons before something as amazingly intricate as that could have evolved purely from random mutation and natural selections.
Thanks for the ping!
Not true-Darwin is passe except for naturalist...molecular evolution is far more interesting...By the way, can we stop bashing Darwin...all he ever said was that things change over time...he saw this demonstrated on Galapagos Island. It’s true all living creatures evolve over time. Have you read Origin of the Species?
Darwin's theory has caused many people to believe him instead of believing in God the Father, and Jesus Christ His only Son who shed His blood to save us all, but because Darwin gave them an easy out, many have died without being saved. They have perished for all Eternity. Our physical bodies die, but our spirits live forever. Those who accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, will be with Him throughout Eternity. Unfortunately, those who accepted Darwin's lie, will be with him in Hell for Eternity.
Just catching you up on my postings in honor of Darwin’s Bicentennial Birday Celebrations :o)
Amen brother. Although, let us hope that at the very last moments of his life he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although, I will admit, his spiritual state was not looking good leading up to his last moments.
You get no argument from me about the mysteries of a God of intelligent design. My argument, however, is with those who take the Bible as a literal fact of an explanation to everything in the natural world. There is a congruency, I believe, where Darwinist science and Biblical scripture can concur and that is the fact that ALL modern homosapians sprang from the paring of two original parents. When the coupling occurred, though, was definitely not even close to 10,000 years ago!
Thanks
I’m an evolutionist who only needs to look at the wonders of the world around me and the skies above me to find evidence of God’s hand.
How he did it is nowhere near as important as my faith that he did.
The catch word here is "evolve" because do all living creatures actually evolve over time or adapt to surroundings and environmental changes in nature? The "Out of Africa" theory presupposes (and, if DNA sampling is credible, proven) that ALL humankind came from an original pair of parents. Over time, human races became distinct from one another because of adaptation--caucasions becoming white due to the fact that there was less sunlight in the northern climes where they settled; negroes remaining black because of the sunlight where they remained, etc (*i.e. "natural selection"). But, the fact is, they all retained their human DNA and held chromosomes vastly different from other species.
Darwin postulated that the bridge between these other species, however, could be crossed--that's a pretty big leap of theory which has yet to be proven and, IMO, will never be!
